Accounting Generalist (Temporary Assignment)

What you will be doing:

• Establish and maintain local credit policies and procedures regarding billing, collection, credit cards, inquiries, cheque cashing, etc.
• Assist with Payroll
• Responsible for reviewing, tracking and inspecting of all group, local catering, and in-house accounts, including managing deposits, collections, delinquents, and un-collectible accounts
• Review and deny/approve all requests for billing
• General Cashier duties and balancing day to day cash operations
• Prepare and distribute daily cash due backs
• Prepare and maintain all month-end accounts receivable reports as required for corporate office and hotel management
• Maintain close working relationships and effective communication with other departments, including Sales, Catering, Front Office, etc., and assist with training as required
• Ensure compliance with all local and corporate policies & procedures
• Other duties as assigned

Your experience and skills include:

• Previous Accounts Receivable experience is required, within a hotel setting is preferred
• University or college degree/diploma in Finance/Accounting or related field is required
• Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications is a must and prior experience with a property management system is preferred
• Proven ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and written, across the organization and with external contacts
• Excellent organizational skills
• Ability to problem solve and make decisions as required
• Team oriented with the ability to work cohesively with others
