What you will do

In this vital role you will play a key role in completing accounting and reporting projects as well as supporting activities and compliance for the Global Accounting close process. The role will focus on collaboration with project teams including Information Services, Functional and Regional Accounting, and other Business partners passionate about improving standardization and efficiency to drive outstanding Accounting and Finance processes.

• Lead local, International finance, and/or accounting projects including
• Responsible for the Change Management of Projects (RPA, System Implementations & Process Optimizations). Works with Global teams to ensure effective requirement gathering and leads communication and training at relevant levels in the organization.
• Acts as a link between Corporate/Functional and Global/Regional teams to drive project priorities forward.
• Monitors and ensures fulfillment of all service tasks and processes as well as reporting activities requirements in compliance to the applicable legislation and Amgen policies
• Suggest improvements to processes and work with project teams to plan and implement.
• Support annual International Internal Control Certification and/or quarterly SOX process including assessment of projects (like RPA) on existing control framework.
• Oversight and coordination of activities with third-party service providers and cross functionally to ensure appropriate service is provided and any issues are resolved.
• Support accurate, complete and timely monthly and quarterly accounting close.
• Assist cross functional global accounting and finance teams with U.S. GAAP accounting, payroll processing, and tax compliance, as well implementation of recommended improvements as a result of internal/external audits or other process improvement initiatives.

Basic Qualifications:

• Master’s degree and 2 years of finance experience

OR

• Bachelor’s degree and 4 years of finance experience

OR

• Associate’s degree and 10 years of finance experience

Or

• High school diploma / GED and 12 years of finance experience

Preferred Qualifications:

• 4+ years proven experience in accounting or finance functions or combination information technology and finance
• Project management experience or certification
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving and organizational skills
• Experience with ERP systems (preferably SAP), RPA or other technologies supporting the accounting function
• Proficient in Microsoft Teams, Excel, Word and PowerPoint
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Ability to communicate and collaborate cross-functionally in an organization
• Detailed oriented and highly motivated
• Strong project management skills
• Able to take the initiative and work under a minimum supervision
