Accounting Generalist

Summary of Responsibilities:
- Must be willing to work a flexible schedule in order to accomplish all major responsibilities and tasks
- Must be willing to accept assignments on a need to basis, in order to promote teamwork
- Provide first contact to the guests of the Accounting Office and answer or direct all general inquiries.
- Maintain a positive service attitude at all times and be willing to help and advise clients with all questions and requests they may have.
- Assist with various accounts receivable functions including but not limited to FIT/group billing, customer inquiries, and credit card chargeback investigations.
- Complete daily cashier functions including but not limited to maintain daily cash control worksheet, record cash receipts, and conduct surprise float counts.
- Prepare daily cash drop to bank
- Assist with month end processes such as inventory counts and prepare monthly cash entry
- Ensure company policies and procedures are followed when issuing change, petty cash and floats.
- Perform any additional duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a credit and accounting required
- Familiarity with operating systems such as Opera and Micros is preferred
- Excellent administrative, interpersonal and organizational skills are required
- Computer literate in Microsoft Window applications or relevant computer applications required
- Ideal candidate should be self-motivated and have a strong desire to succeed in a challenging environment
- University/College degree in a related discipline an asset
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities
- Highly responsible & reliable
- Ability to work cohesively as part of a team
- Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times
