Zhejiang Energy Atlas Marine Technology Co., the joint venture company, is now seeking an experienced Accountant to join its team in Hangzhou, China, to oversee the preparation of monthly and annual financial statements.
The position will require creative thinking, independent work, and the candidate must be able to communicate effectively in English. The position requires an accounting professional who can be a self-starter with attention to detail and drive for continuous improvement.

Position Title: Accounting Manager
Department: Finance
Company/Location: Zhejiang Energy Atlas Marine Technology Co – Hangzhou, China
Reports to: Finance Director

Position Description: The Accounting Manager oversees the preparation of financial statements for the Joint Venture in Hangzhou. They will manage and lead an Assistant Accountant in translating financial statements from PRC GAAP to US GAAP.

• Oversees the accuracy and timeliness of financial processes in the JV to ensure accuracy and integrity of reporting
• Establishes accounting books in accordance with the “Accounting Law of the People’s Republic of China”
• Engages in financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting
• Reviews and approves GL reconciliations, journal entries, AP invoices, wire payments, and cheques
• Prepares financial reports with variance commentary for management
• Coordinates financial statement close process to ensure timely submission of deliverables
• Confirms compliance with finance policies and procedures
• Develop business requirements for AP focused technology solutions, support testing requirements, and support training programs associated with technology change
• Evaluates and analyzes finance issues as they arise and identifies solutions/options for resolution
• Liaises with various department managers to facilitate information transfers between financial services team and other departments (e.g. Operations, Commercial, HR, IT, Treasury, Corporate Finance)
• Partners with external auditors during quarterly reviews and annual audits (internal controls, business processes, audit working papers)
• Provides input to SOX consultants and Director, Internal Audit with regards to documentation of business processes and internal controls.
• Coordinates, organizes, and communicates between teams to ensure successful project completion or problem resolution
• Ensures high priority issues are addressed, resolved and/or escalated as necessary

Requirements: • Degree in Business/Accounting from a recognized institution
• Accounting Designation or Certification (CA, CGA, CMA, or CPA)
• Minimum 10 years of accounting experience
• Management experience of 3+ years
• Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (including Outlook, Word, and Excel)
• Proficient verbal and written communication skills in both English and Chinese
• Resilient problem solver with immaculate attention to detail
