Eaton’s Electrical Sector, Critical Power & Digital Infrastructure (CPDI) division is currently seeking an Accounting Manager to join our team. This position is based in Santa Ana, CA. Position Overview: The Accounting Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, monitoring, and leading all DCPD locations Finance and Accounting activities with a primary focus on Operational Controlling of Santa Ana, CA facility. This role will develop, enhance, maintain and utilize a production reporting system that supports DCPD Controller, SNA Plant Manager and SNA functions with pertinent financial analysis and data to ensure maximum financial and operational performance as well as accurate and timely forecasts. In this function you will: Analyze operational and financial data, investigate variances, identify business drivers, and evaluate their impact on planned objectives in order to maximize operational performance. Provide information and assistance to other departments within the organization regarding these financial results and advise to management. Track and maintain cost savings projects and economic trends. Develop cost savings metrics and review progress with project owners in order to drive and meet significant productivity goals Prepare the annual profit plan by gathering inputs from product marketing, production and SG&A budget holders. Prepare presentations to executive management with explanation to drivers. Manage finance function through the development of financial processes to facilitate the requirement to deliver timely and accurate financial forecasts as well as timely and accurate month-end closing activities in order to provide accurate and timely operating results/statements/reports Responsible for balance sheet integrity. Ensure balance sheet reconciliations are prepared and proper reviews take place. Supports internal and external audits and 2nd level BSR. Present recons and takes action to mitigate the risk and resolves findings. Prepare and own Capital Appropriations Requests and works with functional departments to ensure timely capitalization and depreciations. Supports AR and AP teams by providing resolutions to aged receivables and payables for both Trade and IC. Participate in Close and FCST activities, prepare ME journal entries, analyze the data and accruals, justify and load to financial systems. Prepare presentations and bridges as assigned. Support Cost Accounting activities and monitors the requirement to ensure min impact to financials (PPV, MUV, etc.) Prepare and review Sarbanes-Oxley documentation along with improving financial and business practices. Support integration activities and required analysis as assigned. Participate and drive Annual Physical Inventory and Physical Assets. Fosters an environment that promotes Eaton’s goals, philosophies, and encourages continuous improvement. Provide additional analysis and reporting as needed/assigned. Basic Qualifications: Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution Minimum three (3) years of Accounting or Finance experience Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future. No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of Santa Ana, CA will be considered. Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation Preferred qualifications: MBA or Master’s degree from an accredited institution Prior experience in systems including SAP, Oracle Financials, Salesforce, Encore/Khalix and/or HFM Experience with internal and external Audits Qualifications Position Criteria: Ability to think and act strategically Experience in cost accounting, financial planning, and forecasting Ability to think strategically and see big picture in dynamic business environment Ability to work independently and in a team environment; to communicate articulately and professionally across many organizational levels and functions Highly motivated, works with a sense of urgency, driven to add value and deliver results Attentive to detail, personally committed to work quality and able to learn from mistakes Ability to operate with high regard to integrity, trust, and confidentiality, ethics Strong working knowledge of United States Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and SOX Ability to demonstrate attention to detail, personally committed to work quality and able to learn from mistakes Ability to demonstrate intermediate to expert level proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint Programs that are offered globally, but program availabilities may vary by site.
