Job Description
PRIMARY FUNCTION: The General Accounting Manager position reports directly to the Controller and supports tactical accounting analysis and related reporting for the Electrical Sector CDPA Juarez, Mexico Plant. This includes ensuring financial activity accuracy, completeness and alignment to Corporate policy and procedure for the 3 legal entities and the associated campus environment. This role is instrumental to ensure an adequate internal controls environment throughout the plant. This includes the effective deployment of a comprehensive account reconciliation and balance sheet review process. This position also has direct leadership responsibility for ensuring financial accounting activities at the location are in compliance with generally accepted accounting principles, local statutory requirements and Eaton Corporate policies. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Establish and monitor compliance with internal accounting controls deemed necessary to ensure integrity of financial transactions, reporting and activities; and safeguarding of plant assets in adherence with corporate policies and procedures. Ensure compliance of statutory requirements as applicable to the plant. A Provide leadership for plant Balance Sheet review process. Ensure comprehensive account reconciliations are performed on a monthly basis for all 3 ledgers/legal entities. Conduct formal quarterly balance sheet reviews with Controller to ensure account accuracy. Provide training to all plant finance personnel to ensure a comprehensive understanding of the plant balance sheet reconciliation process. Coordinate and implement improvements to monthly closing procedures ensuring accuracy and timeliness. Administer and manage daily finance operations as applicable to plant. Scope to include payroll, payables, inter/intra company, capital, and general accounting. Assist in development of finance department goals and objectives. Implement procedures necessary to direct department activities toward achievement of goals and objectives. Actively coordinate and wok with cross-functional teams for business process Improvements (BPI). Ensures procedures and departmental processes are properly documented and standard work is fully deployed. Advise counsel, mentor, evaluate and motivate financial personnel as necessary, assist in training/on-boarding of new financial employees Provide business partnership to all areas of plant with regard to functional expertise and cross-functional support, providing guidance and education as needed to plant personnel to achieve financial objectives. Act as advisor and provide counsel to plant staff and personnel regarding financial operations and interpretation of financial information. Manage the requests of external and internal auditors for compliance with EATON Policies and procedures. Also coordinates responses to Eaton tax groups as required Supports plant’s physical inventory management, Supports and assist with planning and executing area cycle count verifications and wall to wall physical inventory to ensure compliance with EATON Policies and procedures. Takes a leadership role in Capital Processes including monthly forecasts of projected capital spend, timely capitalizations of project assets and ensure supporting documentation is maintained to Corporate requirements. Plan and lead physical asset inventory ensuring assets are present, properly identified with correct useful lives. Coordinate monthly capital spend and inventories with trade management team to ensure Oracle fixed Asset Records reconcile with Mexican temporary permits (pediments) Prepares adhoc financial analysis to support the business decisions by plant management and assists with request from Divisional Controller. Assist with preparation of monthly rolling forecasts and annual profit plan Manages monthly financial transactions and booking information according to EATON Financial Policy requirements. #LI-MM3 Qualifications SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE: Basic Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance or related field from an accredited institution Sound Working knowledge of GAAP, Sarbanes Oxley and local statutory requirements Minimum 4-7 years in related developmental roles including 2 years in a manufacturing environment Preferred Qualifications: CPA/CMA/MBA or progress towards the completion of these preferred Full Bilingual (English/Spanish) Intermediate to Advance PC (Microsoft Office) skills and ERP knowledge: AS400, Oracle, Vista/Global Vista, MAPICS Competencies: Thinks and Acts Strategically, Gets Results, Build Organizational Capability. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION Drive for result and willingness to learn. Good time management skills, and able to communicate across the functional team in non-accounting terminology.
