Company Description

The establishment of IKEA Supply (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd (ISMY) is to support and drive improvements in the current and future Logistics and Distribution Network within Asia Pacific (AP). The organization will supply full range of IKEA products from High Flow and Low Flow goods to South East Asia (SEA) markets, India, Australia and future new markets within the region.

We are strategically located at Port Klang (Pulau Indah), near Kuala Lumpur to cater for an efficient goods flow with minimum lead time.

Job Description

The purpose of the role is to manage the Financials of the legal entity in line with the Inter IKEA growth agenda and sustained long-term profitability by:

  • Securing financial performance and compliance with policies and standards.
  • Being driven by the Inter IKEA business idea, culture and values, with a focus on sustainable profitability.
  • Being a pro-active trustworthy partner with a global view in supporting all Inter IKEA business units in their legal existence in the area.
  • Identifying and evaluating business opportunities to enable Inter IKEA business units to make efficient and optimal decisions.
  • Initiating and proposing the development of new ways of working, with focus on simplicity, providing relevant and user friendly business information standardized for all business units.

This role will lead the Accounting and Reporting team to secure an efficient finance operation for the local wholesale entity by providing timely, accurate, relevant and comparable financial information to secure compliance to INTER IKEA Guidelines and local financial rules & standards.

Financial accounting:

  1. Responsible for overall accounting and tax compliance to local regulations and Inter IKEA rules and guidelines, including accounting chapters of Inter IKEA Financial Manual. Ensure compliance with latest accounting policies and regulatory requirements
  2. Responsible for Monthly closing (Inter IKEA reporting/ SAP) and IIG Group reporting.  
  3. Responsible for statutory audit, provide and prepare the necessary information for audit purposes, follow-up on audit findings and recommendations.
  4. Responsible for cash flow management; maintaining monthly one year rolling cash-flow and 3 years cash-flow forecast.
  5. Liaise with external financial institution to ensure timely fulfilment of the legal unit commitment and negotiate best rate for foreign currency payments.
  6. Perform ad hoc analysis and projects as requested
  7. Compliance and internal control: Ensure adequate policies, working methods and internal controls are in place and documented. Secure the existence of 4 eyes principle in all areas

Taxation

  1. Responsible for Corporate Income Tax computation in compliance to law and regulation, manage tax provision and compliance process. Ensure optimum utilization of approved tax incentives and capital allowances
  2. Consistently looking for way to optimize Inter IKEA cost frame and tax effectiveness.
  3. Facilitate and review company tax returns and the accurate, timely filing of all tax forms.
  4. Responsible for deferred tax calculation and provision for IIG reporting and in compliance to the local tax rule.
  5. Co-ordinate tax audit (if relevant)

People & Culture:

  1. Lead and develop the Accounting team in accordance with “Leading business & people together”, ensure team competence meet current and future business needs.
  2. Act as an ambassador of IKEA values.

 

Qualifications

  • BSc degree in Accounting or Finance. Qualified ACCA, CIMA and related professional qualification is an added advantage.
  • At least 10 years experience in accounting and/or auditing, as a Financial Controller or leading finance/ accounting function.
  • In-depth understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (IFRS) and Tax Rules & Regulations.
  • Good analytical skill, able to draw conclusions and support the right decision
  • Good communication skills at all levels
  • Deep knowledge of local financial regulations and legislation (Statutory, legal, taxation)
  • Ability to prioritize and perform multiple tasks on an operational level with great attention to details.
  • Capability to understand and support needs of internal and related external stakeholders (banks, vendors, local authorities etc.).
  • Capability to handle sensitive information with high integrity.
  • Proven ability to lead and inspire people.
  • Tactical and operational thinking
