Eaton’s Corporate Sector is currently seeking a Accounting Specialist (Pension) to join our team. This position can be based at any of the following locations; Beachwood OH, Moon Twp PA, Irvine CA, Galesburg MI, Highland IL, Syracuse NY, Arden NC, Charlotte NC, Ft Worth TX, Houston TX, Raleigh NC, Peachtree City GA or Tualatin OR. Flexible, hybrid work schedule is also available. Flexible hybrid work schedule available. Position Overview: This position will be responsible for Pension and Other Post-Employment Experience (OPEB) accounting and analysis for domestic and international locations as well as internal modeling of US GAAP pension accounting for planning and projection purposes. In this function you will: Responsible for accounting entries for US defined benefit pension and OPEB plans including preparation of General Ledger reconciliations and auditor requests. Assist in the month-end Pension/OPEB accounting activities including analysis of actual results, preparation of cash flow information, and preparation of forecast information. Assist in the preparation and submission of the quarterly Pension and OPEB funding and expense projections. Perform year-end activity including plan allocations, reconciling books to actuarial valuations, summarizing, and providing annual activity for both domestic and international locations, global consolidation of results. Prepare monthly funding requests for benefit payments to participants. Prepare quarterly pension/OPEB footnotes for 10Q. Assist in the preparation and analysis of global profit plan information. Monitor and understand impact of changes in accounting standards (FASB, IASB), legislative changes, etc. Ensure international locations book according to actuarial valuations. Establish and implement pension policies at international locations. Communicate with country controllers regarding recording of expense, acquisitions / divestitures, other events. Why work at Eaton? Qualifications Required (Basic) Qualifications: Bachelors degree from an accredited institution required 3 years accounting and/or Benefit Pension experience required Relocation assistance is not available for this position. Only candidates currently located within a 50 mile radius of Beachwood, OH, Moon Twp PA, Irvine CA, Galesburg MI, Highland IL, Syracuse NY, Arden NC, Charlotte NC, Ft Worth TX, Houston TX, Raleigh NC, Peachtree City GA or Tualatin OR will be considered. Active Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation. Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and within the future Preferred qualifications: Strong knowledge of employee benefit plan accounting and regulations. Actuarial background preferred. Strong communication, analytic, problem solving, and customer service skills 5 years of experience accounting and/or benefit pension experience Organizational skills to ensure that all outstanding issues are prioritized and resolved in a timely and accurate manner Ability to work and problem solve individually as well as with a team to accomplish goals Capabilities with Microsoft products (Excel, Word, Access) and computer programs/systems (Oracle/SAP, PC and vendor web stations) Expertise with US GAAP pension accounting preferred Position Criteria: This position works with highly confidential and regulated employee data, the position is required to monitor and assure strict adherences with professional standards including adherence to HIPAA regulations At Eaton, we strive to provide compensation and benefits that attract, engage, and retain the best talent.
