Job Description

About The Role:

Objectives:

  • Japan finance transaction coordinate  
  • Support transactional processing on the purchase ledger
  • Support transactional processing on the sales ledger
  • Support the Controller in the preparation and control of the Japanese accounts 
  • Support Central Shard Service finance team
  • Support local project management team
  • Administrative activities to support day to day running of the Japanese office (including secretarial service to all other department)
  • Provide management support and reporting under guidance from the Controller

 

Key tasks and responsibilities

 

Transactional processing on the purchase ledger

  • Processing of local and international supplier invoices in a timely and accurate manner
  • Deal with local and international supplier queries effectively and efficiently

Transactional processing on the sales ledger

  • Ensure the accuracy of the Japanese sales ledger
  • Accurate and timely invoicing of local customers including coordinate other APAC customers
  • Carry out Credit Control and work closely with local PMO & Sales to achieve payment in line with the agreed credit terms (e.g. 30 days)

Administrative activities to support day to day running of the Japanese office

  • Support the HR Manager to ensure efficient and effective running of the office
  • Be able to provide cover for the HR in her absence
  • Support the local sales team to all maters related about PO & invoices

Support the Controller in the preparation and control of the Japanese accounts

  • Assist in the preparation of trail balances and completion of AR and AP accounts
  • Under guidance prepare supporting documentation for audit, tax, etc as needed
  • Maintain good supporting records (excel or paper) that accurately support accounting transactions and accounts (e.g. accrued & deferred revenue)
  • Assist the Controller on other work that she will ask of you as needed

Key Attributes & qualifications

  • Native level skills (Japanese), Good communication skills (English)
  • Coordinated and organised with other local department & client
  • Able to work quickly and accurately to meet deadlines
  • Good MS Office skills (mainly Excel and Word)
  • Knowledge of accounting procedures and project management processes
  • Willingness to learn and develop
  • Confident and willing to make recommendations to improve processes
