This position is responsible for the achievement of a defined Renewal premium target, develop and implement appropriate plans to maintain/improve persistency of the account, make sure of timely collection. Build business relationship with the client and the distribution channel and expand business base through up sell / cross sell

1. Ensures the renewal of existing policies

  • Receives and/or follows-up the Renewal Analysis from Underwriting (UW)

  • Creates the Policy Renewal Endorsement Form (PREF) of the renewing account

  • Proposes a benefit upgrade and has this costed by UW

  • Prepares the proposal if an upgrade was offered

  • Prepares and releases in a timely manner the Renewal Notice/Upgrade Offer to the Client

  • Presents renewal offer to the Client, if required or requested

  • Negotiates with UW to meet the Client’s renewal requirements and/or with the Client to accept our offer

  • Handles bidding requirements; attends bidding conferences for renewing accounts

  • Follows-up the updated employee list from the Client

  • Follows-up enrollment cards from Client

  • Follows-up the Renewal Bill from Operations

  • Ensures premium payment or premium collections

  • Advises UW and Operations of changes in the policy/endorsements, etc.

  • Follows-up the aforementioned legal documents

  • Requests and ensures payment of a Client’s experience refunds

2. Acts as the interface between Operations and other Servicing Departments in the Company

  • Discusses servicing concerns with pertinent departments (billing, financial acctg, UW, Claims, etc.)

  • Follows up renewal/adjustment bills from Operations

  • Follows up requirements for amounts over the NEL

  • Follows up E/I requirements from Client and forwards to Operations

  • Follows up result of E/I from UW/Operations and advises Client of such

  • Follows up individual certs from Operations

  • Accepts claims docs and forwards to Operations

  • Follows up claim payments from Claims/Operations

  • Reviews policies and procedures of the unit to ensure that these are responsive to the needs of the clients and sales channels.

3.   Builds the Client / Broker relationship

  • Identifies Client’s needs and works out how the company can best meet those requirements

  • Analyzes client’s profile & employee benefit program to tailor-fit appropriate product/service package

  • Provides technical expertise to clients in evaluating their employee benefit programs

  • Visits clients regularly

  • Handle inquiries; responds professionally and accurately to questions and requests from clients, following through on commitments within established time frames, ensuring customer satisfaction

  • Reviews the policies and procedures of the CorpSol to ensure that these are responsive to the needs of the clients and sales channels.

  • Troubleshoots clients’ problems

  • Offers and conducts employee orientations to include preparation of the PPT and flyers

  • Ensures delivery of certificates in a timely manner

  • Ensures Clients’ timely receipt of claims

  • Ensures Client’s timely receipt of documents updating their policy provisions

  • Arranges for the medex/lab text required for UW

  • Advises results of E/I UW to Client

  • Handles clients’ giveaways for Christmas and special events (Bday of HR, Company anniversary, etc.)

  • Attends to requests for sponsorships etc.

  • Coordinates with the AIA multinational Reps for assistance with/on status of multinational accounts

4. Expands the existing business relationship by offering other services  

  • Explores upselling opportunities as a potential source of additional business (and to deepen the relationship)

  • Coordinates with different departments and affiliates of Philam Life in extending extra benefits that can be integrated into the employee benefit package 

5. Nurtures the Channel Relationship

  • Visits the Brokers (and/or specific Agencies, when necessary in the course of the job)

  • Assists the channels in the renewal negotiation process when requested

  • Assists in the conceptualization & implementation of promotional campaigns and/or special events for the agencies and brokers with existing accounts

  • Assists in the timely receipt of the Channel’s commissions

  • Provides technical expertise in evaluating varied employee benefit programs

6. Monitors and manages one’s activities & personal production

7. Prepares accurate and timely reports in relation to one’s activities and production, inclusive of but not limited to the accomplishment of the Service Monitor

8. Performs other responsibilities and duties periodically assigned by supervisor in order to meet operational and/or other requirements

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Education – graduate of a 4-year College course

  • Experience – background in HMO / Medical and Life Insurance is a plus

  • Certifications/licenses – none required but insurance certification/licenses is a plus

  • Special skills - Presentation Skill, Negotiation Skills, Above average people skills (i.e. ability to deal with different types of people), Above-average written and oral communication skills, Research and analytical skills, Planning and organizational skills, Time Management Skills, Computer Literate, others:  creative and resourceful
