Purpose of Role:  The Activity Coordinator provides leadership to develop, document, maintain and proactively improve site management programs, methods and systems to assure product, processes, and environments conform to the established Mars and regulatory Quality and Food Safety standards. The job involves the coordination of change control activities, approved documentation, maintaining training system and records, problem-solving and assuring corrective actions are properly implemented and documented.

Principal Accountabilities:

  1. This position provides support to both Quality and Supply as needed to ensure Food Safety and Product Quality
  2. As the documentation system owner for the site, manages all site documentation required for QMP/ ISO certification and audits.  Ensure documentation is consistently updated, readily accessible and effectively deployed onto the production floor. 
  3. In conjunction with the Site Quality Manager and Manufacturing Support Manager, consistently maintains full compliance status for site Quality and Food Safety standards.
  4. Act as leader for the change management team for the Site.
  5. Facilitate Change Management Meeting for the site.
  6. Update the network files in regards to any change requests, establish dates for completion of key tasks and coordinate the implementation of actions.
  7. Administer “world class” training for all site associates.
  8. Assist in identifying specific training needs for associates through job task analysis designing, developing, implementing, and evaluating training programs.
  9. Assist in the determination of training priorities and interventions.
  10. Create and coordinate Standard Operating Procedures to maximize operational effectiveness
  11. Provide detail CVS support to food safety related projects.
  12. Support all other site CVS activities including collaboration with engineering and operation teams, leading cross-functional teams concerning project activities, CVS plan and standard operating procedures.

Key Functional Skills/Knowledge

  • Strong knowledge of ISO, Quality Management Systems, Good Manufacturing Practices and Food Safety, Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point Systems (HACCP) and Regulatory Guidelines

Key Experiences
  • Two years of relevant experience in food and or related industries and 3-5 years experience in a food manufacturing environment or experience in a technical support area such as Engineering, Quality Control, R&D, or Laboratory Services is acceptable
  • Demonstrated Leadership skills
  • Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated presentation skills
  • Knowledge of Mars quality systems and lean manufacturing principles preferred.
     
    Desired Education
  • BS degree in related science or business field or equivalent is preferred
