This role supports Modelling Team Lead to prepare and maintain accurate actuarial model to perform projections and valuation according to business needs, regulatory and company guidelines.Review the processes and look for enhancements to the procedure controls and operational efficiency.
Accountable to plan and execute the tasks assigned by supervisor with the aim to complete them as per planned schedules in an efficient manner.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Modeling (80%)
- Plan and work efficiently to ensure timely completion of Promise model development.
- Work closely with basis teams on model enhancement and provide timely progress update of the deliverables, including escalation of potential obstacles to supervisors.
- Perform modelling tasks and analysis according to guidelines accurately, timely and independently.
- Ensure each model development is properly documented with audit trails.
- Continuously seek opportunities to challenge the model designs, controls, constraints and coding efficiency and to embed the thinking on long term-maintenance.
- Communicate and explain the findings and result to supervisors and various stakeholder with simple language.
- Assist in ad-hoc requests related to model enhancements.
Process Review and Implementation (20%)
- Contribute to ad-hoc analysis and participate in cross function projects such as actuarial reporting and task force.
Minimum Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science and/or currently pursuing Actuarial Professional Exam in any actuarial professional body
- Possess at least 2 years of working experience in valuation and/or pricing field in life insurance
- Proficient in spreadsheet and programming, especially Excel and Prophet
- Good technical and analytical skills
- Good verbal and written communication skills in English
- A good team player who is keen to learn and able to work independently
- Highly motivated, result-oriented and solution-focused
