The opportunity:

The Actuarial Analyst will contribute to the actuarial reporting team meeting its responsibilities for all actuarial reporting. This is a full time permanent role and we are accepting applications from Sydney and Melbourne.

To do this successfully you will:

  • Production and reporting of actuarially produced results and analysis including, amongst other things: Embedded Value (EV) and Value of New Business (VoNB), local statutory policy liability and capital reporting

  • Analysis of key business drivers and movement of values, capital requirement and profits 

  • Prepare process documentation

  • Working as part of a project team to deliver project transformations including model consolidation, claims analysis reporting, persistency experience investigation, expense studies and assumption setting

  • Maintenance and enhancement of actuarial data and projection models

  • Process improvement

Successful applications will demonstrate:

  • Studying Part 2 or Part 3 actuarial subjects from the Institute of Actuaries of Australia, or similar professional body, with between 1 and 3 years of practical experience in the business environment.

  • Demonstrated experience in valuation in Australian / New Zealand life insurance.

  • Extensive experience in Prophet, Macro, VBA, Access, Excel and R

  • Knowledge of the Australian life insurance, life prudential standards, tax and legislation. Preferably experience in New Zealand regulatory legislation. 

  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail

  • Detailed knowledge of actuarial processes
