Support the delivery of IFRS 9 & 17 opening balance sheet and parallel run in 2022. Provide advice and solution to other workstream and BUs for IFRS17 technical matters.

The candidate will join the Office of Accounting Policy after the project ends, supporting the policy and methodology enhancements and providing technical advice on initiatives.

Role & Responsibility:

•  Provide technical advice and solution to BUs and other workstream for IFRS 17 issues identified.

•  Support engagement with auditor on the Group technical positions.

•  Develop and enhance the methodology specification for Day 2 enhancements

•  Supporting lobbying activities e.g. TRG, HKIISG etc.

•  Consolidate, review and analyze the Group IFRS 9 & 17 opening balance sheet, income statement and disclosure notes during the parallel run period.

•  Support the preparation of relevant Group IFRS 9 & 17 reports, board materials, external disclosure materials etc.

•  Other ad-hoc projects are required.

Minimum Job Requirements:

•  Education – Degree holder

•  Experience – Minimum 8 years of experience in life insurance industry

•  Certifications/licenses – Good progress in Actuarial professional examination

•  Strong actuarial methodology, accounting and insurance products knowledge

•  Knowledge in reporting basis (including IFRS 4, EV, EC, IFRS 17 etc.). Technical knowledge on IFRS17 is an advantage.

•  Strong analytical skills and be able to clearly present results systematically and logically

•  Team player with good communication skills

•  Embrace ownership in various tasks and be able to provide thoughtful recommendations
