ACADEMIC REGISTRY

The Academic Registry is one of the key units in supporting the University’s mission by providing a variety of professional services to our stakeholders and the community at large. Our various Sections (namely Academic Affairs Section, Academic Quality Support Section, Admissions Office and Undergraduate Studies Section) offer a wide range of support and services to prospective students, students, graduates, staff members and the public, covering admissions of quality students, academic quality assurance, scheduling of classes and examinations, student record services and administrative support to Senate and its Committees. 

The Academic Registry is looking for a dynamic and high caliber candidate to assure the position of Administrative Officer. The suitable candidate is expected to administer various functional areas of the Academic Registry. Duties include supporting the various schemes of undergraduate admissions, supervising student matters, programme administration, coordination and organisation of university-wide events, promotion of the University’s programmes locally and outside Hong Kong, assisting in review and formulation of policies and procedures and providing secretarial support to committees. The appointee will also assist the Section Head in supervising a team of Executive Officers and Clerical Officers.

Applicants should have a recognised degree plus at least seven years of relevant administrative and supervisory experience preferably in the tertiary education sector. He/She should have an excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese (including Putonghua), good organisational, interpersonal, presentation and supervisory skills, ability to work independently and under pressure. Candidates with high proficiency in IT applications are preferred. A higher degree in relevant disciplines and/or relevant work experience in multi- or cross- functional areas of an Academic Registry would be an advantage.

Initial appointment will be made on a fixed-term contract of three years. Re-appointment thereafter will be subject to mutual agreement and availability of funding.

Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
