Job Description

Overview

The mission of Taipei European School (TES) is to provide educational excellence and European culture and values within the context of Taiwanese society.

The School has attracted regional and worldwide attention with its unique model for integrating British, French, German and High School sections in terms of their curricula, administration, finance, buildings and facilities. Taipei British School, Ecole Francaise de Taipei and Deutsche Schule Taipei began around 1990 in response to the needs of expatriate families living in Taipei. The schools soon realized that there was much to be gained by joining forces to establish a combined European campus, and moved onto a shared campus in 1992. TES is now a single legal entity operating through a non-profit Foundation and comprising the original British, French and German school sections plus a High School established in 2002.

Responsibilities

Admissions Support
  • Responds to written and telephone enquiries about possible admission to TES;
  • Welcomes potential families, conducts tours of the TES schools and facilities, introduces key faculty staff including heads of sections;
  • Assists in the completion of applications and briefs applicants on the details of the fee structure, commitments and refund policies;
  • Assists in the organisation of open house events and ensures parents are appropriately informed about admission to TES at these events;
  • Prepares and submits reports and statistics for / to the line manager and government ministries / departments;
  • Provides induction information for new families and provides school sections with all relevant information about new students;
Assessments Organisation


  • Arranges and administers assessment tests, and sets up interviews with heads and faculty staff;
  • Informs the line manager and applicants of assessment results.
  • Carries out research into alternative assessment materials and pilots tests with existing students when required;
  • Organises remote assessments for overseas students, communicating with the school or organisations which will be administering the assessment

Editing Support


  • Ensures that all database information related to Admissions is checked, entered and maintained accurately and systematically, without undue delay;
  • Writes and updates the admissions pages of the TES website and other school literature that is in English;
  • Assists in editing of English articles which are used for the Marketing of the school, via the Marketing Department.
  • Assists other members of the Admissions team as and when required by the Director of Admissions and Marketing.

Qualifications

  • Residence: APRC holder or Spouse Visa.

  • Knowledge / Education
    1. Bachelor’s Degree (BA or BSc) from an international University/College
    2. Teaching qualification - TESOL certification or equivalent
    3. Native level English - able to edit native and non-native written articles
    4. An intermediate level of Chinese is desirable

  • Experience
    1. Minimun 3 years teaching experience
    2. Knowledge of educational assessment
    3. 2 years experience od Editing English texts
    4. 3 years office experience

  • Skills /Abilities
    1. Able to act quickly and on own initiative to solve operational problems / address
    2. Should have strong planning and logistical skills
    3. Able to manage computer online test set up
    4. Use appropriate office administrative computer programms, inc. Google suite5. Can work independently most of the time but can asses when a decision or response needs to come from the line manager.
    6. Able to commmunicate politely and effectively with all stakeholders, orally and in writing.
    7. Customer Service skill
