Advance Quality Manager

General Purpose of the Position

Lead pro-active

quality engineering activities during the Phase 0-2 product/process/program

development phases, to ensure that a robust quality system has been built into

the Product and Process as the product transitions into Phase .Lead cross-plant and cross-region activities

such as lessons learned, for assigned product lines

Responsibilities

1.
Lead
project APQP activities directly with customers..

2.
Understand
customer quality systems/requirements and ensure that those requirements are
communicated and met, throughout the Phase 0-2 program development stages.

3.
For
all Significant and FAI projects, lead WRAM, APQP tracker (if customer does not
dictate specific format use DP818), and CVM activities.

• WRAM
  updated per project timing requirements, but no longer than every three months.
  Provide regular updates to project team and Chief Engineers.
• APQP
  Tracker updated per project timing requirements, but no longer than every three
  months. Provide regular updates to project team and Chief Engineers.
• CVM
  updated per project timing requirements, but no longer than every three months.
  Provide regular updates to project team and Chief Engineers.
• The
  above documents should be ready for review at scheduled Design and Process
  Review

4.

Provide

voice of the customer as well as voice of the plant on Phase 0-2 programs

• Update
  / involve the Plant Phase 3 Quality Engineers as needed.

5.

Ensure

lessons learned are incorporated into new product/process designs

• Captured
  from current production and historical customer complaint data (DPRTS)

6.

Actively

support the development/updating of DFMEA, PFD, PFMEA, PCP, Standard Cell

documentation.

• Provide
  input and direction on linkage of documentation, measurement systems and required
  gaging/measurement systems
• Work
  with the plant Phase 2 QE to understand if required measurement system/gaging
  is available in the plant, or that it is included in the project AR
• Frequency
  of measurements identified in the PCP and evaluated against the available
  resources in the plant.
• Hidden
  factory/rework processes are captured in documentation.
• Documents
  need to align with CVM

7. Provide

input and guidance on special characteristics on all product drawings.

8.
Lead
initial development of the receiving inspection requirements with the Phase 3
Plant Quality Engineering organization.

• Create
  PCP for purchased components that identifies what needs to be checked, gaging
  required, frequency of checks and acceptance criteria.

9.

Support

the successful completion of PPAP activities with the plant.

• Engage
  the Phase 3 Plant QE early in the PPAP preparation and planning activity.

10. Provide onsite support at the

manufacturing plant during the launch period to facilitate the transfer of the

quality systems and lessons learned.

• Provide
  historical, lessons learned and training from project development to Phase 3
  Plant QE team

11. Global AQM responsibilities include

oversight programs being managed by Regional AQM’s.

• Set
  up monthly review with Regional AQM’s for your product line to review their
  ongoing projects to make sure that standardized work and lessons learned are
  being utilized across regions and programs

12. Support Equipment Qualifications as

needed.

13. Support Phase 3 Line Side Review
activities within the plants for your assigned products.

• Cascade
  lessons learned across plants, products, and programs.
• Work
  with plants in tracking the LSR metrics.

14. Provide quality metrics update to the

Business Teams

• Utilizing
  standard document format (from Monthly Plant Reviews) to provide monthly
  quality update in the BT meetings.

Position Preference
(minimum)

1.
Bachelor’s
Degree or higher in Engineering

2. Strong
organizational and problem-solving skills

3.
Excellent
language skills in oral and written English

4.
Working
knowledge of:

• TS16949
  and automotive standards (AIAG or VDA 2, 4, 6.3, (Verband der
  Automobilindustrie).
• Project
  Management and APQP requirements.
• MS Office and MiniTab
