Job Description
Eaton’s Bussmann division is currently seeking an Advanced Manufacturing Engineer Senior 2021 to join our team. This position is based at our Juarez facility. The Advanced Manufacturing Engineer Senior responsible for the development procurement of new, robust processes for the production facility. This position will also lead cost improvement projects and variation reduction projects using statistical problem-solving tools. Leadership and guidance is also expected for other engineers and technicians throughout the plant. In this role, you will: Lead and manage metal mechanic projects (rolling & slitting) On site expert for metal forming, slitting and heat treatment Define and develop project proposals, including financials, for new manufacturing processes. This includes the AFE and MSD. Create detailed specifications for new equipment for the purpose of quoting with external machine builders. Lead and manage complex machine and process projects from concept through implementation. Utilize corporate guidelines for project implementation. Conduct regular meetings with the technical staff and key plant management to review the status of individual projects. Lead PFMEA development for new equipment or new process development. Lead cost reduction projects as assigned. Lead variation reduction projects as assigned. Demonstrated ability utilizing statistical problem solving techniques is required. Lead product and/or process transfers as required. Support lean manufacturing practices during process procurement and throughout the plant. Support Company’s Quality Policy in adherence to applicable TQA policies and procedures. Act as mentor for other engineers. Experience in metal forming, slitting and heat treatment processes Bilingual English / Spanish High motivation with continuous drive for improvement. Knowledge of and experience with AIAG Core Tools, (APQP, PPAP, FMEA, MSA, SPC). Ability to work independently and in teams on multiple, simultaneous projects. Strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact effectively with individual at all levels of the organization. Strong knowledge of MS office Ability to lead and manage change. Demonstrates advanced problem solving skills. Demonstrated knowledge of lean manufacturing tools and techniques. Demonstrates ownership and ability to manage project assignments with a broad scope and high level of complexly and able to prioritize and complete work in a timely manner. Demonstrated knowledge of tooling, gauging and fixtures design (CAD), development and implementation Evaluate and recommend variation reduction projects providing opportunities for improvements in key measurement areas (speed, cost, quality and productivity). Drive high dollar impact projects that produce significant value for the business). Preferred Qualifications: Six Sigma Black or Green Belt certification.
