The Advanced Packaging Supply Chain Engineer will be responsible for, but not limited to:
- Explore and benchmarks emerging technology in the industry.
- Contribute to future technology definition and requirements.
- Define the technical requirements for supplier selection.
- Develop plans and strategies to validate critical process windows at suppliers.
- Drive supplier process window validation activities on critical process modules throughout stages of development.
- Drive supplier improvements on quality reliability yield and cost.
- Develop solutions to problems utilizing formal education statistical knowledge and problem-solving tools.
- Use Model-Based Problem Solving to lead escalations to resolve a wide range of difficult and complex problems.
- Provide technical support during material transfers for factory start-ups.
- Accountable for the technical program management of Intel's tool suppliers.
- Own and drive the technical working group that defines the priorities for the supplier.
- Collaborate with TD engineers to create and maintain relevant specifications and mutual expectation documents to minimize variability and subjectivity to align with operational and supplier capability requirements.
- Attend vendor school.
- Will frequently be on the cleanroom floor and should understand the tool they own similar to the tool owner.
- Support commercial commodity managers with should cost and ROI development.
**This position has the opportunity to develop into a hybrid role where the SCE also performs the role of the commodity manager (develop, negotiate, and maintain commercial contracts) for the candidate seeking to develop greater business acumen.
**While we strive to maintain a good work-life balance this position involves managing suppliers in different geographies and early morning or late night meetings are often required.
Qualifications
You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates. Position not eligible for Intel immigration sponsorship.
Minimum Qualifications:
- The candidate must possess at least one of the following 2 degrees; plus, the years of experience determined for each degree in the areas specified below:
1- Bachelor's degree in any Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math (STEM) major with 3+ years of experience in engineering.
2- Master's degree in any Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math (STEM) major with 2+ years of experience in engineering.
Expertise Area:
- Direct Fab Experience
Preferred qualifications:
- Advanced expertise in problem-solving within a difficult environment
- Dealing with difficult customers and/or suppliers.
- Cleanroom experience.
- Program management experience.

Work Model for this Role
This role will be eligible for our hybrid work model which allows employees to split their time between working on-site at their assigned Intel site and off-site.
