The opportunity:

Reporting through to the Head of Portfolio Capability and Demand you will play a critical role in developing, coaching and mentoring the AIA delivery community to improve our performance across the Portfolio  as well as have the exciting opportunity to help us grow and develop our Agile Ways of Working and wider adoption progressively across the enterprise.

The overarching goal of the Agile Coach will be to support and champion the improvement of Agile in  practical and pragmatic way including processes, implementation of measurement metrics, better practices (such as lean and agile), continuous improvement tools, automation opportunities and waste reduction. This role can be filled in Melbourne.

To do this successfully you will:

  • Drive adoption and transformation to Agile across the organization, establishing successful and pragmatic approaches to Agile practices across individuals, teams, and portfolios.

  • Develop a robust strategy and tangible, practical two staged plan to uplift the Agile capability of the organisation – initially within delivery and then progressively through the broader enterprise

  • Coach, train, develop and mentor teams and team members to become self-sustaining in delivery, prioritisation and continuous improvement

  • Be pragmatic and flexible rather than coaching by the book and recognise that coaching is about your team!

  • Be hands on, stepping into assist the team as needed to show them how things can be done.

  • Introduce and promote best-fit ways of working including change management, lean, agile, continuous integration, and delivery practices across teams to assist with fixing problems

Successful applications will demonstrate:

  • Extensive experience in project delivery with at least 10-15 years’ experience using Agile practices.

  • Will have been an Agile team coach, iteration manager/scrum master, Delivery Lead, Solutions Delivery Manager or Quality Assurance role

  • At least 2-3 years of experience with the Atlassian suite JIRA & Confluence as an administrator

  • Experience in developing and providing pragmatic training and coaching stakeholders/delivery staff both technical and business delivery staff

  • Experience in consulting on continuous Integration, Automated Testing and Continuous Delivery

  • A strong reputation for uplifting agile capability in a practical and pragmatic way as well as driving and influencing the progression of Agile at all levels

  • Recent experience working on large and complex organizational transformation programs with ability to build and maintain relationships with stakeholders at different levels quickly
