The Opportunity:
AIA New Zealand’s Portfolio Management Office team (PMO) are looking for an Agile Product Owner. You will be responsible for identifying customer needs, prioritising features, and promoting the product vision and roadmap of the assigned projects/features/workstreams.
The Product Owner is ultimately accountable for the product that is released to the market and will work closely with key stakeholders throughout the organisation and beyond to ensure successful implementation of the project.
About the Role:
- Foster exceptional relationships with Business Owners and Stakeholders, supporting them with defining and communicating the vision for your assignments.
- Create, prioritise, and maintain the product backlog according to business value or ROI; OR where within a scaled programme.
- Responsible for acceptance of sprint deliverables, in consultation with the accountable Sponsors and Business Owners acceptable criteria.
- Align with change strategies and plans in place to ensure business and customer readiness.
- Support stakeholders with understanding delivered risk impacts and ensure the identified new /change risk controls are delivered within scope prior to go-live.
- Be the key point of contact for all business-related questions, challenges and decisions.
- Work with delivery leads to ensure adherence and transparency to project governance commitments.
- Foster a safe and open environment to ensure delivery teams feel comfortable raising any concerns and are heard.
About you:
- Agile Product Owner experience within an agile delivery framework.
- Experience within Finance/Insurance industry.
- Experience working within a SAFe framework (Release Train).
- Completed SAFe training (SAFe for Teams or Product Owner relevant training).
- Agile Product Owner qualifications/certifications (advantage).
- Understanding of Agile methodologies, approaches, and tools.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent negotiation and influencing skills.
- Strong relationship management experience.
- A passion for customers and ability to represent the voice of customers.
- Excellent analysis, business acumen and critical thinking skills.
- Can identify business issues and develop risk mitigation strategies with sound problem solving skills.
