This part-time consulting engagement offers remote flexibility and direct influence on strategic positioning in a sector critical to global stability.
The Role
We require an authoritative expert on agricultural commodity markets, food supply chains, agritech innovation, or international food policy. As a remote consultant, you will deliver intelligence on supply resilience, climate adaptation, trade disruptions, and sustainability governance. Your analysis will directly inform procurement strategies, market entry decisions, and multi-stakeholder engagement across food-producing regions and import-dependent markets.
Key Responsibilities

Advise executive leadership on global food security trends, commodity price volatility, and supply chain risk mitigation
Assess geopolitical and regulatory impacts on agricultural trade, export restrictions, and biosecurity frameworks
Provide confidential briefings on WTO rules, Codex standards, and emerging ESG requirements in food systems
Support strategic dialogue with agriculture ministries, UN agencies (FAO, IFAD, WFP), multilateral development banks, and farmer organizations
Monitor convergence of climate finance, regenerative agriculture, and food technologies reshaping production and logistics
Candidate Background
You are an acknowledged authority in food and agriculture through one of the following:
Senior leadership in agricultural research, commodity analytics, or food policy with proven government or industry interface experience
Former senior official from a national agriculture ministry, trade department, or food safety regulatory agency
Principal analyst or program lead at a reputable food security, agricultural economics, or climate policy institute
International experience with CGIAR, FAO, IFPRI, or equivalent multilateral food and agriculture bodies
You possess deep sectoral expertise, a trusted international network, and the ability to navigate complex trade, climate, and food sovereignty dynamics.
