The agribusiness manager will be responsible to optimize current local waxy corn (potentially normal corn) planting and supply chain, looking at all areas to improve planting yield, starch content, quality and grain handling. He/She will create win- win between farmer and company as a result of above improvement and will lead the sustainability program for China. He/She will also lead the new waxy seed program to ensure continuous planting yield and starch content improvement.

Critical Deliverables

• Manage and execute the terms of grain contracts for the waxy corn farmers/cooperative/grain suppliers
• Promoting local (within 50km from SD Plant) waxy corn planting via partnership with local authorities, farmers cooperatives, companies and big farmers.
• Work closely with all stakeholders to improve waxy yields to support continues waxy cost improvement
• Work towards meeting company objectives on complying to SAI silver target on sustainability in 2020
• Ensure relevant quality control measures are in place and executed at the grain suppliers. This will involve on-site supervision during the harvest season in the waxy corn growing regions.
• Execute established strategies and tactics for risk management during the waxy grain harvest, grain handling and delivery strategies.
• Keep detailed records on planting progress, harvesting and grain collection process to look for continuous cost savings.
• Lead and supervise 3rd party contractors to carry out the certification of IP, non-GM waxy grain and SAI platform in planting areas.
• Manage waxy corn planting base, secure the optimum seed, and supervise the entire value chain from the seed and farm selection through to harvest and tolling
• Work closely with seed supplier, government agency or agriculture consultant to continuously find ways to improve waxy planting yield and thus reducing the waxy premiums.
• Promoting and encouraging more farmers/cooperatives to grow waxy around Pingyuan area
• Networking with potential partners that can help to improve planting yield and help to reduce raw material cost via agriculture
• Ensure quality of waxy corn starch meets agreed specifications
• Regularly conduct risk assessments and audits to ensure a smooth operation across the entire value chain
• Good understanding of market dynamics and competitive landscape
• Identify, evaluate, and develop new potential contract farms to add value to the Supply Chain
• Consistently looking for ways to improve current supply models
• Assist the procurement manager with data and alternative options to negotiate the best contract deals
• Develop aflatoxin monitoring program and minimize exposure on aflatoxin risk.
• Managing pilot planting area and waxy demonstration area and ensure it achieve its objectives of waxy planting promotion and waxy best practices demonstration
• Conduct field survey during planting season, provide grain volume forecast and resolved potential supply issues

• 
  Communicate with farmers/cooperative/grain supplier to ensure there is no confusion or surprises that lead to execution or relationship problems.
• Conduct training and implement FSA(Farm Sustainability Assessment) on all planting area
• Understand and evaluate complex relationships (agents, middlemen, village influencers, etc.) to identify opportunities for improvement as well as make recommendations as to what partners can be trusted and developed.
• Educate 3rd party suppliers and partners on our code of conduct and strictly enforce compliance
• Maintain a close network with key internal functions – production, sales,

quality, engineering, and CSPI – both at the China level as well as globally

(supply chain and purchasing) to be able to focus and deliver on issues

that add value to the business

• 
  Bachelor degree or higher in agri-business field
• At least 10 years of experience in the field
• Successful past experience in leading programs with farmers
• Strong communication skills with all level of skateholders
• Familiar with corn agronomic, planting and processing
• Must frequently travel in the countryside
• Understanding of the agricultural regulations in China
• Trustworthy, hard-working, and willing to learn new things
• Based in Shandong Plant
• Fluent in Mandarin, ideally in English
