YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

The primary responsibilities of this role, Agrochemical Formulation Chemist (Scientist I), are to: 

 

  • Lead sample preparation, testing and data analysis with problem solving of complex and extensive scope;
  • Be able to optimize workflows;
  • Validate testing methods using multiple data sources;
  • Demonstrate good judgment when identifying and implementing process improvements;
  • Be accountable for cross-functional work in multiple platforms/process areas;
  • Be directly responsible for team meeting scheduling and organization of technical agenda;
  • Adhere to established protocols and techniques;
  • Operate and troubleshoot a wide variety of instrumentation;
  • Be able to design and analyze experiments under the supervision of a senior scientist which may include DoE or other means of testing and optimization;
  • Use specialized knowledge, the broad application of physical chemical principles, current literature on formulation approaches to develop and achieve target product concepts;
  • Operate and troubleshoot, skillfully, instrumentation and equipment used for FT. Familiar with latest technologies and successfully implement to improve lab instrumentation and lab processes;
  • Provide training to contingent workforce Train and supervise others in a specialized area;
  • Prioritize and coordinates work within a team structure and is the primary contributor to evaluate and understand project requirements and documentation;
  • Solve complex problems requiring original thinking and deductive reasoning and the application of scientific principles to the design and interpretation of scientific experiments;
  • Provide report preparation and delivery of results of experiments, inspection results, cost/benefit analysis, and lab related issues to partners and key stakeholders;
  • Achieve commitment to safety and adherence to safety protocols and best practices;
  • Thrive on meeting challenges, insist on high quality deliverables, and will have proven initiative in some categories of accomplishments, either individually or as part of a group.

Required Qualifications:

 

  • Ph.D. with minimum years relevant experience or Master’s degree with at least two years of relevant experience or Bachelor’s degree with at least five years of relevant experience;
  • Solid chemistry/colloidal science/biology/fundamental engineering acumen with the ability to independently design experiments and analyze data;
  • Proficiency with data analysis and visualization software;
  • Understanding and aptitude for applying industry standard testing methodologies according to ASTM, API, ISO, etc.;
  • Knowledge of regulatory, engineering and design principles that lead to development, and optimization of local and global formulated products.

 

Domestic relocation may be available for this role.
