Amazon Business Analyst

The Amazon Business Analyst is the primary expert in the day-to-day pulse of our business: Serving as the go-to expert on consumption trends, working as point person for our assistant buyer at Amazon, monitoring operational performance and flagging issues, and truly helping us keep the operation running as effectively as we can.
What we are looking for?:
- Bachelor's degree program in a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- 2+ years of experience directly working as an analyst on a major CPG customer OR
- 2+ years working in retail at Amazon.com
What will my key responsibilites be?:
Business Analysis: This person will be tasked with regular analysis of our business, including but not limited to – general business trends, key Amazon metrics and how they impact our ability to deliver the number, item level analyses like shifting and incrementality, OOS exposure, discontinuation reabsorption, and more. They’ll be asked not only to provide the “what” but also the “so what” and the “now what.”
Operational Control: Crucial to success on Amazon is managing the details. Because of that, this person will be asked to own several key parts of our operation, i.e. managing our catalog of more than 700 SKU’s, forecasting the impact of gained and lost distribution, monitoring and reporting on marketplace volatility, and researching and disputing unjustified nonworking spends.
Executing with the Customer: Our Amazon team is unique in that we ask our business analyst to take on part of the customer-facing responsibilities, purely based on how Amazon operates – the analyst is often best suited to managing tactical work with our SAS at Amazon. This person will be asked to foster a collaborative relationship with their counterpart at Amazon, track and manage the joint task list between both groups, and efficiently work to execute the myriad day-to-day tasks that take customer involvement.
Collaboration With Cross-Functional Partners: This role will require meaningful time spent working with not only the rest of the Amazon team, but also internal partners in revenue growth management, finance, sales planning, and supply An ability to build relationships and solve problems together is crucial.
Presentation Skills: Comfort making presentations with small-to-medium sized audiences are a significant plus and will regularly be a part of this person’s workload, as our Business Analyst is often asked to report on findings to the rest of the Amazon team or a small group of internal partners.
