ABOUT THE ROLE

The Insights Analyst works under the supervision of more senior analysts on simple data analysis and visualization challenges. Accountabilities include:

• Be able to define and understand analysis requirements and be able to identify appropriate data sources.
• Develop, implement and support analytical and data visualization solutions designed to drive the interrogation of datasets for insights in business application areas within defined project scope.
• Clearly and objectively communicate insights and results, as well as their associated uncertainties and limitations
• Translates business problems into the appropriate analytics problem and solutions using established frameworks and tools.
• Provide insights support for exploratory, descriptive and predictive data analytics to multi-functional small-scale projects in order to execute defined solutions that drive value to AstraZeneca
• Understands Risk, Assurance, Privacy, Information Security and Regulatory policies to ensure data and information controls are in place and adhered to.
• Build effective relationships with established range of stakeholders to ensure utilization and value of information resources and services. Clearly and objectively communicate results, as well as their associated uncertainties and limitations
• Develop, maintain and apply ongoing knowledge and awareness in trends, standard methodology and new developments in analytics
• Implement working practices to ensure that work is delivered to robust quality standards and aligned to defined governance frameworks and policies
• Handle simple ad hoc requests of data (sourcing, extraction, profiling, integration) to support Data Science model generation and business insight

ESSENTIAL SKILLS REQUIRED

• Bachelors Degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent number of years of experience
• Demonstrated knowledge of data analytic and visualization tools such as Power BI, R, Python, SpotFire or Tableau.
• Familiarity with database systems (eg SQL, NoSQL, graph)
• Proven ability to draw conclusions from data and communicate in a succinct fashion to partners
• Deep technical acumen
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent spoken and written English language skills.
• A proactive approach to problem-solving.
• Able to grasp and understand new technology and concepts
