• Execute and document pre importation/exportation of Customs entry audits for Hershey China and Asia Innovation Center (AIC) to ensure accurate declaration of value, HS classification, tariff treatment, and other data; track and communicate adjustments to Customs broker.
• Ensure results of pre-entry audit are taken into consideration when Customs Broker are evaluated against compliance KPI.
• Ensure claims of duty preference for imports are supported by an FTA certification.
• Assign Customs Value to free of charge shipments.
• Review Hershey China’s compliance to broker’s billing review process.
• Secure yearly Broker Self -Assessment and acknowledgment of compliance
• Administer New Hire training to functional department.
• Assist in the development and implementation of policy and procedures to improve China’s Trade Compliance Program. Work with regional and global counterparts to establish compliance standards, training and best practices.
• Support ongoing maintenance of China’s Import/Export & Trade Compliance manual.
• Support periodic assessment of Hershey China’s compliance program
• Perform other function as may be required due to changing business needs.

  Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities required to successfully perform major duties/responsibilities:

  
  
  • Basic HS Classification Experience. Previous experience with food products, as well as equipment and/or packaging recommended.
  • Basic understanding of China Tariff Schedule.
  • Detailed understanding of import, export processes and customs compliance.
  • Detailed understanding of broker operations and business requirements.
  • Knowledge of China trade compliance issues.
  • Knowledge of SAP or other ERP System. Experience with SAP-GTS is a plus
  • Computer skills including data entry, PC, Windows, database and spreadsheet.
