Job description – Analyst, Energy

Pöyry Management Consulting is seeking to hire an Analyst to join our Energy team in Beijing. This is a starting-level opportunity to join a dynamic team experiencing rapid growth and working on some of the most challenging questions in energy markets in China and globally.

The successful candidate will be engaged on a broad and continuously evolving range of complex projects providing insights and quantitative analysis in support of Pöyry’s global and domestic client base.

Job Title: Analyst, Management Consulting (Energy)

Location: Beijing

Reporting line: Head of Management Consulting, China

Main responsibilities:

• Work within international, multi-disciplinary teams on a variety of energy related consultancy engagements;
• Conduct data research and database management for Pöyry’s in-house cutting-edge BID3 electricity market model;
• Provide written input in Word or PowerPoint reports in English and Chinese;
• Conduct market research and analysis on a broad range of energy sector topics;
• Occasionally support in the development of materials for competitive bids.

Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in Mathematics or Energy Economics;
• Fluent written and spoken English and (Mandarin) Chinese, other regional language skills are a plus;
• Excellent skills with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and Power Point. Experience with database software such as Access or SQL server is also advantageous;
• Internships or some practical work experience in energy, consulting or finance is advantageous;
• (Experience with Python, R, C Sharp, or Mosel is advantageous but not required).
