Job Description

The Job

  • To carry out programming tasks and web design according to specifications;
  • To conduct unit and system tests to ensure systems operate accurately, effectively and efficiently;
  • To provide application systems development, maintenance and support service;
  • To assist users in preparing the user acceptance test (UAT) plan and providing support to UAT;
  • To assist in providing user training and support to enable users to operate the systems effectively;
  • To prepare and maintain system documentation according to the guidelines and standards;
  • To assist Systems Analyst in user requirement collection, system analysis and design; and
  • To perform other duties as assigned.

 

The Person

  • A recognized degree, preferably in Computer Science or Information Technology, or equivalent;
  • At least two years of relevant experience in IT application development in:

- Java EE

- SQL

- HTML, JavaScript, CSS

  • Knowledge in IBM WebSphere, Oracle, MS Sharepoint or iOS/Android mobile app development would be an advantage;
  • Hands-on technical experience in 3-tier and web solution architectural design and development;
  • Conversant with SDLC development methodology;
  • Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese;
  • Good interpersonal, communication, problem solving and analytical skills; and
  • Good working attitude, independent, flexible and a good team player.

 

Candidates with less experience may also be considered.

 

Remuneration Package

A competitive remuneration and benefits package including a discretionary performance-linked variable pay, annual leave, medical, dental and life insurance coverage, and MPF will be offered. All new appointments will be made on a two-year fixed-term contract initially prior to consideration for appointment on a non-fixed-term basis.
