Duties:

• Serve a contract assignment under InfoTech's headcount, full-time second to serve a client with the public sector to develop and enhance forecast products based on global Numerical Weather Prediction (NWP) model outputs.
• Develop routines for receiving and processing new global NWP model data;
• Provide programming support for the automatic generation of chart products based on the model data;
• Integrate the model data into various downstream application systems;
• Nurse the systems and resolve any teething issues;
• Manage the software systems and prepare documentation.

Requirements:

• At least 2 years' web application development experience in JavaScript; knowledge and experience in Python, PHP and HTML5 is an advantage; interest in weather forecasting applications is an advantage;
• At least 1 year's experience in UNIX shell script; proficient in using Linux platform; knowledge and experience in AIX system is an advantage;
• Experience in software testing is a plus;
• Bachelor Degree/Higher Diploma/Diploma in Computer Science/IT or equivalent;
• At least 3 years' post-qualification experience in which at least 1 year's relevant experience;
• Criminal record check will be required and the offer is subject to the results of the criminal record check.
