Role summary:
The purpose of Platform Engineer role is to support RPA IT Platform in alignment to the demand from across IT and Business areas.
About RPA:
Robotic Process Automation Function own the strategy & support of our Shared Service platform (RPA Tool - Automation Anywhere) which is used to support IT, HR and Finance and there are great opportunities to leverage the capability to introduce efficient processes, workflow, features and functionality to improve further services to our customers. We work closely with Automation Anywhere to develop solutions and prioritise the introduction of new features and services to transform our IT services for our customers within AstraZeneca, enabling all areas of our business. We maintain the Control Room and associated License for AstraZeneca.
High Level Function Overview
The Robotic Process Automation Platform Function are responsible to:
- Ensure the RPA Control Room & Clients are Available, Reliable and continuous for the business
- Ensure the platform is secured. Access controls are maintained and managed as per GXP and SOX guideline, provide evidences to Audit
- Ensure the license allocation and usage across the RPA platform
- Partnership with CFIT Development RPA team, IT capacity are well forecasted
- Demand Delivery of client machines to support the Accelerate process
- Ensure the RPA Platform is uplifted, patching cycles are aligned with the Automation Anywhere roadmaps
- Evaluate options to maximize the license and client utilization by streamlining the process
- Release management of the BOT into production, and manage access and controls
Key Accountabilities
- To ensure IT Service Management practices are adhered on all Operational & Projects implemented within RPA Business Service
- Manage Communication to all Stakeholders on all Patch, Minor & Major activity within the Business Service
- Follow Major Incident Process when business service is impacted, followed by Problem Management Process for identifying the Root cause
- Ensure all IT change are well coordinated, documented & approved by Change Management, properly tested & Signoff by affected Stakeholders
- Ensure the service is aligned to all GxP & SoX Regulatory by doing monthly Self Assurance. Further produce necessary evidence to SoX / GxP when requested.
- To document & maintain knowledge repository on all Operational tasks in alignment to RPA Service Manager & Architect.
- Maintain Continual Service Improvement register, based on Service Prioritization CSI opportunities to be driven until outcome achieved.
- Produce BOT Utilization dashboard, maintain inventory of BOTs & Virtual Machines used to deliver services month on month.
- Along with Service Manager, evangelize and plan for High Availability/DR of VMs in coordination with all CFIT Stakeholders.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot system (Virtual Machines, Control Room Windows Servers – 2016, MS-SQL 2016) for faster workaround /resolution
- Install, maintain and support applications and Infrastructure for changing demands.
- Perform Proactive & Reactive Monitoring of IT Infrastructure, action on Major & Critical alert whenever triggered.
Experience, Qualification, Skills, Certifications and Competencies
- The ideal candidate can be between 1 - 5 years of experience
- Graduate/Post Graduate Degree in Computer Science or related discipline
- Experience in business process improvements and process reengineering (Kaizen, Six Sigma, Lean, Just do it, etc.)
- ITIL Foundation Certified will be an advantage
- Basic knowledge on RPA (Robotic Process Automation) concept, being eager to learn new skill
- Independent, self-driven, Problem solving attitude & Analytical skills
- knowledge of basic hardware & cloud Infrastructure will be an added advantage
- Candidate must have strong ability to balance stakeholder demand and influence IT stakeholders
- Excellent organizational, time management and communication skills; self-driven, detail oriented, and determined
- Candidate should be flexible and adaptable with the ability to work on multiple assignments and must be customer-facing;
- Ability to prioritize and manage work, adhering to critical and aggressive timelines in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to operate in a fast-paced, evolving environment and appropriately prioritize tasks, and keep abreast of the latest technology.
- Capability to work with people in different time zones.
