How will you make an impact?

Analytical chemist will lead in method development and process enhancement for transplant diagnostic R&D, focusing on antibody detection, protein expression, purification, characterization. Play a key supporting role in the development and application of analytical and molecular techniques that constitute the foundation for the biochemical methodologies underlying the company’s antibody detection platforms. Contribute to the improvement of techniques, protocols, and procedures used for studying and applying antibody-antigen interactions and to the strategic development of new technologies for future product development.
 
What will you do?
 
 

  • Lead efforts in the development of chromatography and related analytical methods in support of current products and new product development
  • Carrying out research and analysis using a wide variety of techniques, software and equipment, developing method on the analysis, purification and characterization of proteins and other large molecules
  • Identify new procedures, protocols, and techniques that will enable gains in efficiency, productivity, and reliability in support of biochemistry, molecular biology and cell biology
  • Develop new and innovative systematic and analytical methods
  • Operate and maintain instruments such as chromatographs and spectrometers.
  • Play a key supporting role in close collaboration with colleagues in R&D and Operations in the development and improvement of biochemical and analytical techniques for antigen and antibody expression, purification, and characterization
  • Develop, implement, and perform verification and validation studies as well as other studies in support of R&D objectives
  • In charge for maintaining and adhering to the safety and health guidelines as they work with hazardous materials and chemicals.
  • Write reports as needed in support of regulatory filings and internal communication
 
How will you get here?
 
  • Ph.D. in Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Immunology or related discipline AND 2 years of postdoctoral experience in the discovery and development of diagnostics or therapeutics; OR master’s degree in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Immunology or related discipline AND 3 years of experience discovery and development of diagnostics or therapeutics
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
 
  • Extensive experience in HPLC, FPLC, and other related analytical equipment
  • design the procedures; employ and create reports; look for ways to improve those procedures;
  • Strong familiarity with compliance and regulatory requirements
  • Flexibility and adaptability in working in a highly dynamic, matrixed, interdependent environment
  • Strong problem solving skills as well as ability to make contributions to setting strategic direction, identifying roadblocks, and providing detail on alternative approaches to overcoming issues and problems
  • Excellent organizational and analytical skills
  • Capacity to analyze and interpret data in an organized manner, summarize and transform data into action plans
  • Hands-on experience in HPLC purification membrane proteins, antibodies, and other proteins; quantitate immunoassay, automation method development
