We are currently looking for an Analytical Scientist Intern based at our Milton Park facility. Milton Park is an early phase development facility with strong links to both larger scale development and clinical labelling, packaging, and distribution sites in the Thermo Fisher network.
 
The Analytical Scientist works in the Analytical Development Laboratory and is part of a team which supports the other sections of Pharmaceutical Development services. This includes the completion of development activities and / or stability testing.
 
This role offers a great opportunity to learn from our experienced Analytical Scientists, Team Leaders and Managers, enabling you to put your theory and understanding of Good Manufacturing Practice (cGMP) into practice. 
 
With the support and guidance of a dedicated mentor during each discipline will ensure you gain the most from your placement.
 
What will you do?

  • Meet all safety and current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) requirements during day to day working.
  • Analyse samples, using appropriate methods, to the required standards producing high quality data..
  • Ensures that equipment/instrumentation is calibrated and maintained and that laboratory records/ documentation complies with cGMPs.
  • Highlights issues and seeks advice if problems occur.
  • Contributes to Analytical Test Procedures (ATPs) and more complex protocols and reports.
 What are we looking for? 
  • Currently studying towards a Scientific degree or equivalent.
  • Self-motivated and a pro-active approach to taking on challenging assignments.
  • Creativity, judgement and analytical thinking.
  • Ability to work with critical timelines.
  • An excellent planner, who can envision short-term milestones which the company must achieve to succeed in the long-term.
  • Outstanding communication skills, both written and oral, and the self-confidence to use these skills to influence others.
  • Basic understanding of method validation.
  • Ability to evaluate and interpret data.
