We are now recruiting a Analytical Technology Specialist ll, to join our diverse Bioassay team in Westport, Mayo.  As our Analytical Technology Specialist ll you will take ownership performing QC testing of biological product using a mammalian cell based assay.

 

So, what do you need to do this role?

 

Key Responsibilities  

  • Ensure activities are completed as per schedule and in a GMP compliant manner.
  • QC Testing of commercial product via Cell Based Potency Assay
  • Routine lab duties including critical reagent qualifications, inventory management and equipment maintenance
  • Interdepartmental co-ordination - facilitates product release, drive completion of defined projects etc.
  • Support method transfer and method validation activities
  • Assay performance monitoring and trending

Qualifications

Education

 

  • Master’s Degree or Ph.D in Biological Science

 

Technical Skills and Experience

 

  • Proven track record in a quality discipline in the Pharma/Medical Device environment
  • Practical experience of mammalian cell culture and basic techniques (Passaging, freeze-down, drug treatments)
  • Sound scientific/practical understanding of ELISA based methods
  • Proven problem solving ability
  • Clear communication skills
  • Technical writing
  • Willingness to up-skill and collaborate
  • Critical reagent screening and qualification
  • Ability to lead and drive projects to meet timelines

Continuous sitting for prolonged periods (more than 2 consecutive hours in an 8 hour day)
