Job Description

At  BMW  Car  IT,  a  wholly  owned  subsidiary  of  BMW  AG,  we  live  and  breathe  software.  We  design  and implement embedded software for the electronic control units of the BMW cars as well as related tools and frameworks. One of our many areas of activity is the development infotainment head unit systems: a hyper-connected multimedia information and entertainment hub in the car.

 

What awaits you?

  • You will be working in the team developing infotainment applications to visualize and control autonomous driving functions.
  • You will design and implement components and APIs.
  • Furthermore, you analyze and solve technical problems within the team and together with our partners in other departments.
  • You will write code and automated tests (MockK, Espresso).
  • You will develop a modern Kotlin or Java code base using today’s best software tools and practices like Git, code review, automated testing and CI.

 

What should you bring along?

  • University degree (B.Sc., M.Sc., PhD) in information technology or a comparable course of study.
  • Several years of Android (app) development experience and ideally C++ code execution in Android; knowledge in Kotlin and Java programming of advantage.
  • In-depth understanding of object-oriented software development.
  • Ideally experience in 3D rendering.
  • Familiarity with AOSP.
  • Expertise in Android HAL.
  • Expertise in CI and test automatization as well as software quality practices (e.g. code reviews).
  • Familiarity with agile processes and development.
  • Fluent business English, German would be an advantage.
