In addition to Mercedes-Benz AG, Mercedes-Benz Mobility AG is one of the two business divisions of Mercedes-Benz Group AG. In 2020, Mercedes-Benz Mobility financed or leased around 50 percent of the vehicles sold by Mercedes-Benz Group worldwide. This corresponds to a contract volume of €150.6 billion, and more than 5.4 million vehicles. In 2020, the business division generated revenue of €27.7 billion and achieved EBIT of €1.4 billion. Mercedes-Benz Mobility operates in more than 39 countries.

The Group Anti-Money Laundering Office @ Mercedes-Benz Mobility is part of our department Integrated Risk Steering and Governance, AML & FATCA. The Group office supports Mercedes-Benz Mobility to fulfill its obligations with regards to preventing and combating money laundering and terrorist financing in accordance with the German Anti-Money Laundering Act (Geldwäschegesetz).
The tasks of the Group Anti-Money Laundering Office @ Mercedes-Benz Mobility are as follows:
  • Preparing and updating the group-wide risk analysis
  • Defining group-wide uniform internal safeguards
  • Preparing policies, job and process descriptions for the Mercedes-Benz Mobility AG
  • Coordinating and implementing the policy throughout the obliged Mercedes-Benz Mobility group companies
  • Implementing control and monitoring activities in respect of compliance with the requirements under the policy among the obliged Mercedes-Benz Mobility group companies
  • Incorporating and providing guidance on the Business Practice Office (BPO) process in connection with money laundering
  • Defining procedures on the exchange of information within the Mercedes-Benz Mobility AG
  • Reporting to the executive board member of Mercedes-Benz Group AG appointed for the Mercedes-Benz Mobility division on a regular and event-driven basis concerning the implementation of, and compliance with, anti-money laundering requirements within the Mercedes-Benz Mobility AG
  • Providing a central point of contact for employees and authorities in matters relating to anti-money laundering affecting the Mercedes-Benz Mobility AG
  • Supporting entities with training and instruction on typologies and current methods of money laundering and terrorism financing as well as relevant regulations and obligations
  • Preparation of an annual activity report
