POSITION SUMMARY:
Bentley’s Licensing team are part of the Legal organization. The team’s goal is to ensure customers derive the maximum value from our software and in turn, that the company is able to receive an equitable revenue stream from its intellectual property. The licensing role is dynamic and fast-paced; dealing with customers across the region assigned and across segments. We are a global, cross-functional team focused on protecting Bentley’s intellectual property rights (IPR) through enforcement, telemarketing, license audit and site visit, and advice while recovering revenues lost to non-compliance. This is an opportunity to join the China License Compliance team based at our office in China.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- External
- Largely responsible and measured on audit program management especially on identifying and targeting of large-scale reviews of customers, reconciling their software deployment and license entitlement records and negotiation for successful closure of license shortfalls
- May also perform on-site reviews of noncompliance customers to reconcile sales records with license records.
- Effectively communicates to vendors and customers and drive license reviews to completion within the shortest possible timescales and against targets.
- Actively communicates and negotiates with customers’ executive team to address license compliance issues.
- Internal
- Identifies licensing shortfalls, offers licensing expertise and assists with general software asset management for internal stakeholders.
- Provide reporting and maintain systems regarding license review activity
- Supporting management teams to provide customer analysis relating to licensing
Requirements: (EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES)
The ideal candidate will possess years experience in a similar license compliance role, gained at another vendor or partner. Experience preferably gained performing license compliance reviews, anti-piracy, and/or contracts work in a similar software company or in the Big 4 consulting companies. Knowledge of various compliance methodologies including using software tools for compliance reviews, licensing contracts (including Volume License Agreements and EULAs) and software licensing models is extremely important.

- Candidates should ideally be educated to degree level
WORK EXPERIENCE
- 3 years minimum experience in SW licenses compliance
- General Sales Skills (BENTLEY experience highly preferred)
- Understand software subscription Licensing Models and leasing license models
- Audit experience and knowledge a plus;
- Willing to travel across the country to negotiate with noncompliance customers.
- Strong negotiation skills; experience in adversarial situations highly preferred
- Highly organised, able to work effectively in a matrixed environment
