Eaton’s Vehicle division is currently seeking an Application Engineer to join our team. This position is based at our Aguascalientes facility. Grow the business while protecting Eaton from dissatisfied customers or excessive warranty expense. This position analyzes proposed OEM vehicle configuration requests to determine compatibility with Eaton transmission and clutch products. Proposes alternative vehicle configurations to improve satisfaction and/or reliability. Coaches global ACE region teams on proper product application requirements for transmission and clutch products. Participates in the evaluation of new design concepts and will support activities that ensure new products meet the needs of the market. Some activities related with the position will be: Use appropriate TRAG documents to provide NAFTA LD/MD/HD Transmission and Clutch application analysis and disposition (approval/rejection) based on vehicle configuration and vocation. Develop and manage improvements for the Global Application System related tools. Based on understanding of the customer’s requirements, recommends products and technologies to meet customer needs and ensures customer satisfaction. Develop and communicate guidelines and recommendations to both vehicle OEM and end-user Transmission and Clutch customers to ensure optimal drivetrain specification. Build application engineering skills in assigned global ACE regions Support duty cycle process, data collection, reporting and tools. Develop new tools and processes to improve efficiency of global ACE application teams Represent NAFTA ACE team on assigned PROLaunch programs providing input related to applications engineering, duty cycle requirements and customer wants and needs Represent NAFTA ACE team at weekly ECR review meeting (ECC) Represent Eaton ACE teams in industry organizations like TMC Support improvements to engineering standard work processes #LI-VIT1 Qualifications Required (Basic) Qualifications: Four-year Bachelor of Science degree in a relevant technical field from a nationally accredited university or college Minimum 3 – 4 years commercial vehicle experience required Presentation skills, good written and oral communication skills Ability to teach others (particularly global regions) Interest in learning about the global application of Eaton transmission and clutch products Willingness to travel domestically and internationally up to 25% of time. Customer oriented Functional knowledge of transmissions and clutches Preferred Qualifications: Working knowledge of instrumentation and data analysis Technical knowledge of gear and bearing designs Ability to obtain commercial driver’s license (CDL) Industry experience/knowledge with some related customer contact Be familiar with specific skills as they relate to Application Engineering such as: duty cycle collection and analysis, program management, DFSS, Reliability Engineering, vehicle configuration We make what matters work.
