Your role
Summary: as an welding application engineer you will be a part of our joining team at the TRUMPF Laser Application Center (LAC) in Taicang, giving laser application support to Asian-Pacific region customers
The statements below are intended to describe the general nature and level of work in this position. They are not intended to be an exhaustive list of all responsibilities. The position may require that employees perform other duties as assigned.
Principle Duties & Responsibilities
You are responsible for setting up and demonstrating laser applications to our customers at the LAC, document and report your findings in English language reports.
You are responsible for delivering application support and training to our customers at the LAC as well as at the customer site, such as troubleshooting, welding process optimization, or relevant know-how training.
Mainly support at the customer of automotive industry specific in transmission system, body-in-white, interior parts etc.
Analysis of welding results (microscope, metallurgy, hardness, mechanical tests), as well as the welding defect analysis
Undertake partial of technical support work as pre-sales work, or support in the industry related exhibition, seminar, conference ect.
Fixture designing for the application testings at LAC, as well as the fixture designing concept understood for the customer project.
Support to complete the other relevant task assigned from the direct supervisor.
Your profile
Master degree or higher in Laser technology, material science, mechanical engineering, vision algorithms related
Experience in the field of automotive laser welding, have a wealth of welding experience on ferrous materials, including wire filling, heat treatment, but not limited to this
Knowledge in Lasers and laser systems (preferably TRUMPF); Robot/NC programming and operation; Optics (beam guidance, focusing, beam shaping,…); Theoretical background and hands on experience for laser welding and metallurgy; CAD/CAM software and Microsoft Office
Chinese native speaker and fluent spoken English
Team player, independent , fast learner, hands on and be willing to travel frequently.
