This exciting role offers opportunity to: Lead and manage the applications engineering team (Support Systems/Sales Engineering) Ensure deadlines are met to support our customers with accurate results within financial guidelines. Lead projects and oversee project design/take-off process and the quality control process throughout the life cycle of the projects. Assist in setting goals, metrics and monitoring progress and driving continual improvements. Define and help acquire resources by coordinating the efforts of team members plus third-party contractors or consultants to deliver projects according to plan. Provide the opportunity to work cross-functionally with other divisions and business areas including Marketing, Sales, Customer Service and Operations. Participation in technical sales presentations and trainings to customers and being the company representative on industry standards and codes technical committees are among the other duties of this position. Possess an entrepreneurial sense of urgency along with a passion for the industry and drive to grow both personally and professionally. Project management and process improvement. Review of all engineering deliverables to maintain high quality of service Develop & maintain project tracking tools, help set metrics and goals, ensure timely completion Participate in, gather, and analyze VOC input and feedback to ensure services and products are meeting customer expectations Support the Sales and Marketing teams with technical presentations and trainings to internal & external customers Develop team members, foster a learning culture, establish an environment for open sharing and improvement Work with internal and external engineering resources as necessary to sign off on project plans or new product applications Perform project design tasks, including but not limited to; project take-off, development of scope documents, drawing layouts, submittal creation, release schedules, post order documentation creation, structural/mechanical/seismic calculations, FEA analysis, shop drawings, installation details, installation instructions, BIM, etc. Work with manufacturing and engineering team to develop project specific parts/kits as necessary. Works with customer & outside sales to develop cost effective solutions to meet the customer and project needs. Report potential/actual problems requiring attention and provides alternative solutions when identified for project completion. Upgrade, develop and deploy tools supporting technical services, engineering process automation, design configuration, ease-of-doing-business customer tools Provide technical support to both internal and external customers Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Mechanical Eng’g, Civil Eng’g major in Structural) Two (3+) years of experience in application development and/or customer support Five (5+) years of experience in structural design support Proficient in Solidworks / Autocad / RISA 3D software Experience of design software i.e. PDMS / SP3D/ REVIT / STAAD / Finite Element Analysis a plus Experience in custom product solutions/steel design from a manufacturing company utilizing high steel content Experience in Structural System Design/Analysis (wind, sea/land transportation and MEPF seismic bracing support design) Experience in welded and bolted framing connection design Knowledge of manufacturing documentation requirements for Oil & Gas, Power, Mining, heavy industrial projects: - submittal drawings - production drawings - test reports & certifications Experience in an Oil & Gas, Power, Mining, heavy industrial projects Experience in working with EPC company Familiar with different international codes and standards (NEC, IEC, NEMA, ASCE, AISC, AISI, IBC, CBC, CSA, NFPA, IBC, UL, FM, MSS, OSHPD, MFMA, plus others) Experience in cable tray system design/layout and design for non-structural component supports including seismic bracing. Experience in Mechanical & Electrical equipment support design Experience with project management and quotation/proposal preparation Exposure to Eaton’s B-Line Business manufacturing processes and capabilities Prior knowledge of Eaton’s B-Line Business products and channels to market SAP/Business Warehouse knowledge Demonstrates strategic mindset with high decision quality Ability to prioritize, create, and lead project teams to drive for results Must be able to speak, read and write English well Good communication skills, especially on technical issues Yes!
