Eaton’s Electrical Engineering Services and Systems division is currently seeking an Application Project Manager to join our team. This position will be based in Raleigh, NC, Arden/Ashville, NC, Richmond, VA or Hanover, MD. Our Mission Critical Program specializes in design, consulting, and turnkey solutions for Federal customers on UPS centric projects. This position is responsible for executing equipment only projects through the concept/design period through commissioning and customer hand off. This position interfaces directly with contractors, AE firms, designers, end users and internal Eaton engineering teams and manufacturing plants. Project Manager Essential Responsibilities include: Act as the primary Project Manager for complex equipment only projects, and small turnkey projects that may require site visits to support the customer/installer. Leverage customer service skills and best practices to lead and manage a project execution team consisting of engineers, customers, sales, supply chain, manufacturing, test, and vendors. Estimates, prepares, submits, and manages change orders between customer and Eaton Manages and communicates the scope of work and responsibilities between Eaton’s customers, Eaton’s employees, and Eaton’s suppliers / sub-contractors Manage project purchasing functions and engage buyers for quotation support from vendors Plans, establishes, maintains, and regularly updates a project schedule on assigned projects Manages communication, and distributes documentation between Eaton and its customers Monitors, reports, and controls costs on assigned projects within estimated project margin Reports, forecasts, and presents project financial activity to Eaton’s management Responsible for financial performance of project including: profitability, project revenue, and cash flow Communicate project schedule delays, impact on revenue in between project reviews to project engineers, coordinators, finance, and manager. Ensures resolution of field and site issues that may arise. Lead and execute projects during pre and post sales periods. Application Engineer Essential Responsibilities include: Interpret project specifications and provide a detailed specification response, including assisting Sales with technical proposals/bid packages Create proposals and LOAs for project bid estimates and to meet financial goals. Be a liaison for the Mission Critical business to Customers, Eaton manufacturing plants, and Eaton field personnel. Support for customized UPS requirements and pricing. Review orders for technical correctness. Create and packaged submittals. Maintain product familiarity with Eaton electrical distribution equipment and interface with expert product teams for training and support as needed. Assist customers design and value engineer solutions during pre and post sales periods. Qualifications Required (Basic) Qualifications: Associates degree from an accredited institution AND/OR military experience required AND/OR High school diploma with minimum of 5 years hands-on experience in electrical distribution equipment and/or proposal generation experience Two years minimum in project management and/or project execution Legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship Relocation is not offered for this position. Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of Raleigh, NC, Arden/Asheville, NC, Richmond, VA, Denver, CO, Littleton, CO, Lafayette, CO or Hanover, MD will be considered. Preferred qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Technical Disciplines (Computer Science), or Applied Theory (Physics, Mathematics) from an accredited education institution Project Management (PMP) Certification. Experience with proposal development and project execution. Electrical equipment knowledge spanning all building electrical infrastructure Estimating experience in substation and electrical system installations. Experience creating Gantt charts (Primavera/MS Projects) Experience interfacing, managing, and negotiating with subcontractors and vendors Experience with Oracle and SAP Position Success Criteria: Strong focus on customer satisfaction Adept at successful project execution Strong experience to deliver technical solutions to customers. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to be flexible to adjust to changing project conditions. Strong computer skills Pro-active solving issues before becoming problems. Exposure to NEC (National Electrical Code) Electrical Systems focus with UPS and Power Distribution Equipment Problem solving skills Possess and maintain a valid and unrestricted driver’s license Ability to travel within the US and outside of the US without restrictions Must meet access requirements to gain access to military and government sites. The annual salary range for this role is $84,720 - $116,490 a year.
