Job Description
Our Team Asset Servicing Technology (AST) owns the ecosystem through which BNY Mellon’s products and services are delivered to our clients and our internal business operations teams. We provide Custody/Cash/Settlement services, oversee the technology portfolio for Middle Office, Alternative Investments and Sub-Accounting products, and drive operational transformation through technology to make our clients and us more efficient. The Role As part of the AST Production Services team, we are looking for an Application Support / Monitoring Analyst. Key Responsibilities: Maintains and supports applications and their operating environments via timely and proactive alert monitoring across diverse Infrastructure and Applications technology stack. Ensures that all service requests are addressed and resolved within SLAs. Maintains service uptime & SLA as committed. Acts as an SME for Alerting Probes and Tools while correlating raised issues to system degradation with focus on business impact. Triaging & Prioritizing alert triggered incidents, issues problems & user support requests. Resolving moderately complex application/system issues, routing, and escalating, high complexity issues (as needed), engaging the required groups including Infrastructure Support and Application Development teams (as needed). May interact directly with internal clients regarding ongoing issue activities Tracks the incident throughout the lifecycle and ensures it is closed upon completion. Coordinates with the Senior Incident Officer/ Production Services Application Lead to provide information needed for updates. Analyzes issues of moderate complexity, participates in documenting root cause and documents potential solutions to prevent recurrence. Ability to work additional hours as required by business need Support of BNY Mellon customizations Participate in Agile based software development model Provides guidance on technical subject matter to associates. Troubleshooting moderate to complex issues. Contributes to the achievement of team objectives. Provides off hour support as needed Identifies repeatable manual tasks and leads efforts to automate. Provides knowledge and training to new support personnel. And follows standard procedures to document and maintain knowledge artifacts including articles for self-help and recurring issues Maintains and supports highly complex applications and their operating environments. Performs complex troubleshooting as a subject matter expert for a portfolio of applications. Works to ensure appropriate monitoring and alerting setup. Leads root cause analysis and problem management for complex problems potentially spanning multiple applications, to address underlying technical issues. Collaborates with business and application development stakeholders Collaborates with business, application development and infrastructure stakeholders. Lead production readiness reviews and PTO controls for new releases and projects. Analyzes system requirements. Reviews and evaluates plans for major projects and initiatives to ensure they meet system needs. Coordinates the monitoring of major changes to applications and their operating environment. Analyzes the most complex issues that arise. Collaborates with development, quality assurance, operations, support and infrastructure teams to manage application capacity and application monitoring & instrumentatio. nCreation of architectural diagrams and design specifications to aid automation. Designs, implements, and maintains automation toolsets for configuration management, infrastructure and application deployment processes. Complex Incident, Problem Management & Troubleshooting. May mentor or provide guidance for junior team members. Contributes to the achievement of area objectives Qualifications Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience required; advanced degree is beneficial 10-12 years of diverse experience in multiple areas of information technology required; experience in the securities or financial services industry is a plus Strong Unix/Linux shell, navigation, commands, and scripting skills required Oracle PL/SQL other equivalent DB skills required Java, & JVM skills / working knowledge is required Strong understanding of Infrastructure components where understanding of App Engine/Kuberenetes is a Plus Strong knowledge of Production Monitoring / DevOps tools Splunk, AppDynamics Prometheus, Kibana, Grafana, Solarwinds, etc. with experience of utilization in complex environments. Working knowledge of Event Management principles, methodologies.
