For its growing Battery Monitoring (BMS) Group, Analog Devices is seeking an Applications Engineer for our Munich, Germany location. This group designs ICs to supervise High Voltage Battery Stacks and Fuel Cells in (Hybrid) Electrical Vehicles and thus drives the world towards a greener future.

 

As Applications Engineer you will:
•    Focus on ICs and application circuits for Fuel Cell technology
•    Interact with Customers to identify future Product Requirements
•    Workout definitions of future products with the development team
•    Give thorough technical support to customers in person and via Email during the product development
•    Build and evaluate application circuits
•    Develop detailed customer support documentation
•    Participate in software and hardware reviews (internal and customer designs)
•    Support demonstrators for public trade shows and internal training
•    Define and/or develop FPGA based IC emulators
•    Define Requirements for (Complex) Device Drivers
•    Prepare PowerPoint presentations for internal and external usage
•    Establish and communicate efficient use of ADI internal tools for all application support related topics
•    Investigate on and evaluate supporting passive / active devices for our BMS product family

 

In addition, the engineer will work closely with the design team in silicon debug, provide support as required on new product verification and support the Product Test Engineering Team.

 

Required Skills:
•    Experience in PCB Design and Layout
•    Experience with lab equipment
•    Excellent circuit design skills
•    Excellent circuit debugging skills
•    Well-organized and detailed-oriented person
•    Good communication skills and team player
•    Good communication and presentation skills towards customers
•    Relevant software knowledge (either through experience or education).
•    C, C++, Python
•    Basic knowledge of Linux operating systems
•    Knowledge in serial communication interfaces
•    SPI, I2C, CAN

 

Following skills will be a plus:
•    Experience in Fuell Cell Monitoring
•    Hardware description languages / Tools
•    Verilog or VHDL
•    Experience with FPGA and related IDEs. XILINX preferred.
•    Schematic entry and PCB Layout using KiCAD
•    Electronic circuit simulation using LTSpice
•    Scientific Computing
•    Python (numpy), Matlab, Octave, ...
•    General knowledge of communication interfaces used in automotive applications
•    Experience in automotive applications
