Within this fast moving environment we are looking for a Applied Pathology Operations Specialist Lead based in Bergschenhoek (the Netherlands).

 

The primary focus of the role is to coordinate all operational aspects of disease testing at a given testing location/site, which include maintenance, optimization of facilities and processes, enabling new technologies and digital tools. The Applied Pathology Operations Specialist Lead will collaborate closely with other Applied Pathology Team members and various partners across the R&D to ensure we deliver on disease testing KPIs.

 

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Champions and facilitates the implementation of new technologies, innovations and digital tools, and supports other personnel in using them.
  • Oversees activities of complex nature for maintenance of diverse facilities (growth rooms, greenhouses).
  • Leads or supports the optimization of facilities and operational processes to efficiently and timely deliver on commitments.
  • Solves routine to complex problems requiring original thinking and deductive reasoning and application of scientific principles to design and interpret experiments. 
  • Supports HSE policies and Phyto sanitation procedures for the safe operation of the local research facilities and program.

 

WHO YOU ARE

To be successful in this position, you should bring along the following qualifications:

  • MS in engineering or plant science with 2+ years of experience in R&D setting or BS with 5+ years experience.
  • Strong digital acumen, excellent command of digital tools and experience with IoT devices.
  • Strong operational excellence acumen and ability to drive operational improvements in facilities and testing.
  • Strong analytical skills to understand local testing capabilities and translate into medium-term tactical plans.
  • Preferably experience with LEAN and Six Sigma.
  • Strong oral and written communication in English and local language.
  • Ability to interact effectively with employees at all levels.
