We are creating groundbreaking technologies in Computer Vision, Information Retrieval, and Natural Language Processing to empower visual search and understanding scenarios. Work you do here would have impact on tens of millions of users across the world, and also able to reach a wide variety of applications, such as Bing, Edge, Office, Azure Cognitive Service, and Windows.

Responsibilities

Bing is a start-up-like environment, and we are looking for someone that can be productive and comfortable in fast-pace and collaborative atmosphere. You will work with your dev manager and product manager to figure out the ambiguities and extract/refine a clear problem from the product. You will need to drive projects end to end, from metric definition, data collection, to model training, and to final model deployment. You will need to keep yourself up to date on the latest technologies in the field and work with your fellow scientists to maintain Bing’s tech advantages against competitors. As the return, you will find very interesting and novel problems to work on, with good support on data and infrastructure, work with also very interesting/insightful people, and grow with them. Your ideas and hard work can also deliver impact to Microsoft’s huge user base.

Qualifications

  • Master or PhD in CS or related areas with focus in one or more of Deep Learning, Computer Vision (CV), Natural Language Processing (NLP), Information Retrieval (IR), Big Data, and Machine Learning (ML).
  • Familiarity with data structures and algorithms. Can comfortably write programs to accomplish ML-related tasks. Proficiency in a script language is a must. Knowledge of C++ and web development is a plus.
  • Familiarity with at least one of the public deep learning toolkits such as PyTorch, Caffe2, TensorFlow or CNTK.
  • Ability to scale ML solutions on large datasets and serve tens of millions of users. Experience in large scale and distributed computing is a plus, e.g. Hadoop/Spark/Hive, Cosmos/Scope.
