Siemens Mobility Ltd help to solve the problems of increasing traffic by working with railway operators to improve the capacity, punctuality and security of their systems and to ensure that the carbon footprint produced by transportation is kept to a minimum. As part of our Mobility division, you will be part of a team helping to design solutions and systems which have a real impact on the real world. The Challenge: Business administrators have a highly transferable set of knowledge, skills and behaviours that can be applied in all sectors. This includes small and large businesses alike; from the public sector, private sector and charitable sector. The role may involve working independently or as part of a team and will involve developing, implementing, maintaining and improving administrative services. Business administrators develop key skills and behaviours to support their own progression towards management responsibilities. The responsibilities of the role are to support and engage with different parts of the organisation and interact with internal or external customers. With a focus on adding value, the role of business administrator contributes to the efficiency of an organisation, through support of functional areas, working across teams and resolving issues as requested. The flexibility and responsiveness required allows the apprentice to develop a wide range of skills. The business administrator is expected to deliver their responsibilities efficiently and with integrity – showing a positive attitude. The role involves demonstrating strong communication skills (both written and verbal) and adopting a proactive approach to developing skills. The business administrator is also expected to show initiative, managing priorities and own time, problem-solving skills, decision-making and the potential for people management responsibilities through mentoring or coaching others. What are my responsibilities? Onboarding and offboarding of staff Raising purchase requests Updating procurement spreadsheet with all purchase request data Ordering all office requirements Booking meeting rooms Booking hotel accommodation and car hire Assisting with IT queries and coordinating IT helpdesk ensuring procedures are followed Arranging and assisting with guest visits Ensuring that work is progressed in an organised manner attending to the most important duties first Ensuring all relevant job-related procedures are followed Able to maintain utmost level of confidentiality and discretion with sensitive information to the business. To attend and successfully complete all training courses on training programme. Conforming to current Health and Safety at Work Act Here’s how the programme works: The course will typically last 18months (this does not include the EPA period)and you will be enrolled onto the Business Administrator Standard Business administrator / Institute for Apprenticeships and Technical Education The Candidate: We are looking for forward-thinking, inquisitive candidates that demonstrate the following characteristics: You will have achieved or be on track to achieve 5 GCSE or Standard grades at 4 or above in Math, English and Science. You think logically, willing to self-learn and research, and take a creative approach to problem solving You enjoy collaborating with others to find innovative solutions You can work independently, safely and responsibly; take ownership of challenges and ideas and are looking to develop your ability to drive and lead change Identify with our values of Zero Harm, Innovative, Excellent and Responsible. We can teach you the knowledge on your apprenticeship however it also means a lot to us for you to align to our culture and behaviours. Desirable: Some computer knowledge Able to communicate and work effectively within a dynamic team environment.
