As part of our Mobility division, you will be part of a team helping to design solutions and systems which have a real impact on the real world. You will report to the Principal high/low voltage Engineer and will undertake a combination of site based practical activities and production of design deliverables. You will be instrumental in the development of deliverables, focusing on Safety by Design principles in the provision of efficient, low carbon designs solutions. The challenge Part of being an apprentice at Siemens means you get to work on real life products and projects whilst also being supported on a guided learning journey. This will be a minimum of a 3 year apprenticeship (maximum of 4 years) where you will be put onto a Level 4 Railway qualification or something similar. Here is what you can make a difference in; Work within a small team of site-based engineers and deliver service activities and work packages within the Design & Construction teams within Siemen’s work scope; Within the limitations of an Apprentice take ownership of efficient, high quality design and construction activities Ensure safe working practices and environment, and promote a safe working culture throughout our works; Actively contribute to improving safety within the workplace, including providing assistance in developing risk assessments and safe operating procedures, and reporting all close-calls and incidents; Undertake Construction activities associated with the provision of HV & LV Distribution systems; Use common and specialist tools relevant to construction activities; Undertake training (provided by the company) to increase competence in specialist areas; Use common small tools relevant to activies listed above. Use common computer software packages (e.g. Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel) for the production of standard reports or documentation. Attend UK rail sites to undertake works. This will require the role to be capable of holding a current Sentinel Personal Track Safety (PTS) qualification, minimum Level C; Support continual improvement to company processes and methods of working. The candidate We are looking for forward-thinking, inquisitive candidates that demonstrate the following characteristics: You will have achieved or be on track to achieve 5 GSCE's grade 4 (C) or above including maths and english language. You have good IT skills You have a high degree for self-direciton and leadership You enjoy collaborating with others to find innovative solutions You can work independently, safely and responsibly; take ownership of challenges and ideas and are looking to develop your ability to drive and lead change Identify with our values of Zero Harm, Innovative, Excellent and Responsible. We can teach you the knowledge on your apprenticeship however it also means a lot to us for you to align to our culture and behaviours. Minimum Educational Requirements: You will have achieved or be on track to achieve 5 GSCE's grade 4 (C) or above including maths and english language.
