Eaton’s North American Sales Division is currently seeking an Area Sales Manager to join our team. This position is part of our North America Electrical Sales team and will be based in our Pleasanton, CA or Roseville, CA location. Position Overview: The Sales Manager will manage a customer base, sales resources, products and channels to market to achieve planned results for the district. This individual will provide leadership and development to a sales team consisting of sales professionals, sales reps and the distributor channel. Expected results include but are not limited to growth in sales and market share, channel development as well as developing talent within the district. In this function you will: Negotiate, cope with ambiguity, work through complex problems, and manage conflict Have the technical aptitude to understand and position solutions within the respective product category Execute and communicate compelling value proposition and strategy internally and externally Manage different maturity levels in the market, and varying business cycles Ability to manage sales engineers in a different market Ability to demonstrate remote sales team management. Have a strong knowledge of managing products, product applications and distribution channels Ability to navigate and cooperate with operation to meet and exceed customer urgent requests. Influence without authority, in a matrix environment and have a professional presence to clearly be in command in difficult sales situations Grow sales and market share Develop employee talent and the channel Position Criteria: Superior knowledge and demonstrated skills of sales techniques, customer interaction, customer relations and employee development Leadership style and demonstrated behavior consistent with Eaton’s values and philosophies. Analytical thinking capability, leveraging data-driven arguments to make decisions Customer Orientation; ability to understand, communicate and meet customer needs. All candidates must currently reside within 50 miles of Pleasanton, CA or Roseville, CA to be considered. Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering Manager of people experience 10+ years of electrical industry sales experience Position Success Criteria: Previous experience managing people and channels Superior knowledge of sales techniques, customers, customer relations and employee development Strong knowelge of managing products, product appliations and distribution channels Significant sales presence such as that the candidate can clearly command in difficult sales situations Experience in growing sales and market share, channel development and developing employee talent At Eaton, we strive to provide compensation and benefits that attract, engage, and retain the best talent. The expected annual salary range for this role is 114,000 - $157,000 a year.[1] Please note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only.
