Eaton’s Vehicle division is currently seeking an Area Supervisor to join our team. This position is based at our Aguascalientes facility.
The Area Supervisor is responsible for facilitate the daily workforce performance. Coordinate production activities with supporting groups to ensure production objectives. Coordinate the efforts of Maintenance Department to ensure the Equipment availability and thus the accomplishment of the Production Goals. Ensure customers satisfaction in terms of On Time Delivery
Some activities related with the position will be:
- Advise staff personnel on daily production status.
- Promote Standardize work methods and ways to improve them.
- Conduct department meetings with associates regarding communications, departments and plant concerns, and policy interpretation.
- Provide training resources within the department for training new associates as well as procure the external resources for training as needed for new or experienced associates of Maintenance & Production Departments.
- Assist Production Manager in determining personnel requirements.
- Initiate and coordinate assistance, as required from support departments
- Monitor machinery, equipment and facility and initiate maintenance work orders as required, to ensure efficient, effective and safe working conditions.
- Promotes continuous improvement and promotes standardization across the plant and organization
- Provides the best manufacturing solutions for the production process by benchmarking inside and outside the company an by selecting the adequate machinery, equipment and technology available in the market
- Implements, promotes and maintains a safe work environment by implementing a culture of accidents prevention, investigation, equipment maintenance and application of rules. Identify, control and administer risk and danger in own area.
- Promotes the company’s mission and vision by actively supporting Eaton’s ethics and values as well as quality policies.
- Champion key initiatives for the plant and utilize EBS to achieve plant goals. Implement ELS tools such as Value Stream Mapping, Continuous Flow Manufacturing, Setup Reduction, 5s, etc.
- Comply with requirements of the Quality System and deploy to his direct reports a strong quality culture which aligns with our company’s VISION in order to meet or exceed our customers’ expectations.
- Incorporate Safety into 5s activities. Update EHS Risk analysis for departments. Upgrade Machine guarding in Fabrication. Include EHS changes in Future state VSM. Identify and Direct Lean EHS Project. See attachment for more details
- Lead, facilitate and coordinate production and maintenance activities and resources according to established proactive and/or policies within their job area to ensure the timely delivery or quality parts that meet or exceed customer expectations.
- Motivate and coach employees to maintain high levels of engagement, satisfaction, productivity, and quality through effectively utilizing available rewards and recognition channels to encourage and promote desired behaviors and results. Take the annual employees survey results and or mini-surveys (with higher frequency) results as triggers to implement action plans in order to improve the level of satisfaction of the employees on the lower performance dimensions as needed.
- Follow up to capture of SPC data and trend of SPC data capabilities. Apply reaction plan for Non-conformances detected in SPC data.
- Get involved in the CI initiatives of the area plus the ones which require support from his position. The projects led by this position will have to analyze the best way to use the CIF tools available as part of sustaining the improvements.
- Demonstrate the application of the 8 CIF modules and support related initiatives on daily basis through establishing, maintaining and complying his/her Standard Work and other tools. Participate in Kaizen events, Lean Council and Continuous Improvement teams when required. Generate ideas for improvement according with the local programs. Implement and optimize Lean Management tools. Sustain the ELLS tools (VSM, 5´s, TMP, STW, set up, Problem Solving, Materials Management and 6 Sigma) to drive the continuous

Qualifications
Required (Basic) Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical, Electronic or Manufacturing Engineering required
- 5 years’ experience in manufacturing or engineering environment, ideally in the Automotive industry
- Knowledge of LEAN manufacturing techniques and manufacturing processes.
- Experience conducting multidisciplinary teams.
- Knowledge of machinery functions (hydraulic, electrical, mechanical operations)
- English language at a conversational level required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Green Belt (Six Sigma) would be a plus
- JDE knowledge focuses in Manufacturing Processes.
- Broad technical knowledge in the areas of manufacturing processes, quality assurance, plant engineering, production/materials planning, maintenance needs and systems application.
- Knowledge of behavioral science, including the ability to motivate, consul, and constructively deal with people at all levels.
- Strong leadership skills must be capable of leading his organization on a continuous journey of sustained improvement.
