Job Description
Lower School Art teacher required for prestigious international school in Haikou.
Overall Responsibilities
• Collaborate with the Chinese co-teacher in all elements and regards of the bilingual curriculum, teaching and
learning, parental contact and communication, and day to day running of the classroom.
• Work with the class teaching team to ensure daily routines are well established and promoted.
• Plan and deliver teaching sessions and appropriate learning for the children using a variety of interactions
from whole class adult led to independent child initiated.
• Collaborate with the OS teacher on all assessment tasks.
• Ensure the classroom is well-organised and well-resourced and that carefully planned enhancements are used
to promote learning across the curriculum.
• Work with Chinese co-teacher on the class timetable to ensure appropriate supervision of the children
throughout the day, including fair and equitable sharing of release time and breaks.
• Using the school's documentation systems record evidence of learning.
• Implement the kindergarten safety and health care system, guide and cooperate with the nannies to manage
the children ‘s daily routine, achieve the health care objectives and cultivate children’s good health habits and
independence skills.
• Use the dedicated school system for logging of important information, such as pastoral concerns.
Education, training and qualifications
• Appropriate degree, with UK PGCE, or other equivalent teaching qualification giving qualified teacher status
• Recent experience working in Early Years or KS1
• Evidence of relevant and challenging continuing professional development
Knowledge and experience
• Minimum two years’ teaching experience
• Be aware and up to date in all relevant safeguarding polices and practice
• Knowledge and experience of how to use of ICT effectively in promoting pupil learning
• Previous experience or knowledge of working with pupils for whom English is not their first language
